It is such a quick side dish to serve around the table that everyone is sure to love.

SPINACH STUFFED PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS KETO

Yes, spinach, mushrooms and cream cheese is keto.

PORTOBELL MUSHROOMS WITH GOAT CHEESE

You can omit the cream cheese and add cubed goat cheese with the spinach prior to baking for another way to make this delicious side dish!

HOW TO MAKE VEGETARIAN STUFFED PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS 

  • Start by placing four large portabella mushrooms into a baking dish. Remove the inner stem first, this allows you to stuff them.
  • Then strain out your pre frozen spinach in a strainer and mix in one cup of melted cheese to that in a separate bowl.
  • Add in the pepper, salt and garlic powder.
  • Stir all together and fill the mushrooms.
  • Top with your favorite crushed bread crumbs.
  • Drizzle with olive oil.
  • Bake at 350 f for 25 minutes and serve immediately. 

Sometimes it’s the simplest things such as these herbed mushrooms that can add something extra special to a meal. 

So if you’re looking for a side dish that is simple, quick and a sure winner.

This recipe will show you how to cook beef short ribs in the oven in less than 60 minutes.

We love spicy food in this house. So if you do not, then that is okay.

Just simply omit the hot spices and it will have a great flavor just the same.

WHAT IS THE SHORT RIBS COOKED IN

It is made in a special sauce that is made of fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic, red bell peppers and a mixture of spices. 

HOW TO COOK BEEF SHORT RIBS IN THE OVEN

  • Your gonna wanna start by creating this amazing tomatoes sauce that the short ribs will cook in.
  • In order to do that place the fresh tomatoes, cooking oil, onion, garlic and red bell peppers and spices in the blender.
  • Blending  everything till smooth and creamy
  • Then once that is done, you will pour that mixture into a large baking dish and add in all your spices.
  • Stir the spices to blend well.
  • Then put in your seasoned short ribs.
  • Pre heat the oven to 400f then turn it down to 375f and allow the short ribs to cook for 60 minutes till done.
  • Serve over a bed of your favorite rice.

These Air Fryer Drumsticks are super easy to make and are marinated in a buffalo sauce that you are sure to love. Plus there ready in less than 20 minutes! 

This is one of those kid friendly meals also. I sometimes make large batches of these drumsticks so that I can freeze them and when I am in a pinch I pull them out and serve them alongside a salad. 

They freeze well as long as you started with fresh not frozen drumsticks in the beginning. 

Making for a quick meal option on days where you don’t have much time to cook.

HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS

  • It is all in the marinade folks.
  • Start by patting down your drumsticks then placing them in a zip lock bag
  • Season with all your spices and then add the Franks Red Hot Buffalo sauce and melted butter
  • Marinade in the fridge overnight
  • Pre-heat the oven to 375 f and bake for 40 minutes
  • Or cook in your air fryer for 20 minutes, tossing once.

Think of it, how do you typically bake chicken drumsticks or legs? If you are anything like me. You would place it on a pan in the oven and sometimes use a baking sheet to catch the grease.

However with the air fryer it elevates the food and allows all that (FAT) to drip away.

CAN YOU FREEZE CANADIAN BUTTER TARTS

I tend to freeze a batch of 12 butter tarts time, I make this recipe. So yes, they freeze very well!

My family goes crazy for these, so I will double this recipe often so that I can have 2 dozen ready to go!

Also, I just love making butter tarts in my air fryer these days. Because I have a baking rack in mine and it cooks them just the same way as your oven would. 

So people who do air fryer cookie recipes, request that you put parchment paper down.

However if you have a non stick air fryer. Like we do, then there is absolutely no need at all.

These are always in tin pie shells and come out with no mess at all.

Stove Top stuffing with Cranberry Sauce

This Stove Top stuffing with Cranberry Sauce is sweet and savory. And makes for an excellent addition to any holiday meal or can be made the day after with your leftover cranberry sauce if you choose. 

Plus it can be pulled together in no time at all.

I used boxed stove top turkey stuffing to make this, however I do have a recipe for a from scratch stove top stuffing. You can follow this recipes for that if you prefer and then add the fresh cranberry sauce to it.

Yes, I used fresh cranberry sauce, that is the KEY to making the best Stove Top Cranberry Stuffing.

And trust me it is not hard to do, my sauce takes less than 10 minutes to pull together.

Both recipes would make for a great stuffing with this homemade sauce. This one is just more simpler and is good for those trying to put together a whole meal in a jiffy.

HOW TO MAKE STUFFING WITH CRANBERRIES

Well, of course you can just make the stuffing the exact same way the box calls for it. 

Or you can make it my way and add cranberry sauce that makes it so moist and delicious. 

It will have you thinking, why didn’t I think of this recipe? VS. just adding raw cranberries as per usual. 

  1. Your going to want to start with making CRANBERRY SAUCE from scratch, this takes less than 10 minutes or you can use leftover cranberry sauce from the day prior if you have.
  2. Then in a medium sized baking dish empty the packages of Turkey Stove Top Stuffing.
  3. Next add in the sauce and mix to combine.
  4. Once combined add in the butter and hot water. 
  5. Stir till the bread is coated with the sauce, butter and water.
  6. Bake in a pre – heated oven at 300 f for 10 minutes and serve. 

MAKING HOMEMADE STUFFING FROM SCRATCH

You will want to have some dry bread, so if you have fresh. Be sure to take it out the day prior and leave it on the counter for at least  24 hours prior to using it.

Another way is to pull it apart and place it onto a large cooking pan and bake it at 200 f for 35 minutes till it dries out.

Then add in the following spices: Poultry seasoning, thyme and salt and pepper to taste. 

This recipe can go hand in hand with making a turkey.

So if your making Turkey today, then this recipe can be made alongside very easily.

Canadian Poutine

Are you looking for a Traditional Canadian Poutine recipe that has homemade french fries & is smothered in a beef gravy along with white cheese curds? Well then you just found it!

Every so often I CRAVE a real Poutine!

And those fast food joints really fail at satisfying my craving.

So I will make these at home, the traditional way.

Which is super simple!

These fries are baked not fried and are super crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside. 

POUTINE CHEESE TYPE

An Authentic Canadian Poutine has white cheddar cheese curds melted into the fries. 

WHO INVENTED THE POUTINE 

Us Canadians invented this delicious dish. And it is one of my all time favorite things to eat!

WHERE POUTINE WAS INVENTED

Specifically the Québécois came up with it and since then it has become very popular across Canada and into the Northeastern United States. 

HOW TO MAKE OVEN FRENCH FRIES CRISPY

  • You will want to start with a cast iron skillet, it heats up perfectly and helps the fries to crisp up faster. 
  • Then you will want to dice the fries on a large cutting board and place them into a large bowl of cold water. 
  • Leave the fries in the water for 30 minutes to ensure the starch is removed as much as possible from the fries. This helps the fries to be more crispy too. 
  • Next, dry the fries with a paper towel or kitchen towel.
  • Place the fries onto a cast iron skillet or cooking sheet and season with pepper and a little olive oil.
  • Bake at 375 f for roughly 20 minutes or until golden brown. 
  • Then once the fries have cooked, add the cheese curds and pour over the canned BEEF gravy.
  • Place back in the oven at 400 f for 10 minutes more minutes or until the cheese has melted. 

WHAT KIND OF FRIES FOR POUTINE

Rule of thumb is to use “Russet potatoes” they are the best for french fries across the board. 

ARE POUTINES HEALTHY

YES, they can be. Depending on what kind of diet plan you may be on. You may want to look for a low sodium gravy. Being it is baked not fried, the fries are really good for you. 

If you have never used an air fryer, now is the best time to start. Because they are more affordable now than ever before.  

HOW LONG BAKE POUTINE

General rule of thumb for a conventional oven is setting it to 375 f and cooking the fries for 30 minutes. 

  • 40 for extra crispy
  • 35 minutes for crispy fries
  • 25 for more soft

CAN POUTINE BE REHEATED

Yes, and it is tastes just the same the next day!

Balsamic Rosemary Pork Tenderloin

This super simple to make Balsamic Rosemary Pork Tenderloin will save you from cooking in the kitchen all day. 

Wanting to serve this with some rice or potatoes? Feel free to add 1/2 cup of chicken stock to this recipe and that will create more of a broth at the end.

I saw a similar recipe done by Rachel Ray a while back and knew it was only a matter of time before I gave it a go!

Paired this delicious tenderloin with a bunch of brussel sprouts, they go great well with balsamic vinegar.

You can always try asparagus, carrots or potatoes as well. 

There really is not much too it, your basically seasoning the tenderloin and then stuffing it with some fresh garlic and rosemary.

Then drizzling more olive oil over top and balsamic vinegar which helps to caramelize the meat.

Then place into a oven safe dish and baking it along with your favorite vegetable of choice. 

Easy peezie weeknight dinner that can easily feed a family of 3.

Air Fryer Bbq Chicken Wings

If you like Sticky Chicken Wings then you’re going to LOVE THESE Barbecued Air Fryer BBQ Chicken Wings.

Because they are sweet, sticky and extra crispy. Which make for the best wing experience in my opinion.

Of course you can skip the BBQ sauce and cook them with just some seasonings, but that is totally up to you.

CAN YOU AIR FRY CHICKEN WINGS

Yes, the air fryer cooks them so well. I typically serve these wings with a side salad, which makes for a delicious and healthy weeknight meal.

And really all we are doing here is, covering the wings in your favorite BBQ sauce then placing them in the airfryer or oven to bake. Pretty easy if you ask me!

I encourage you to try my favorite bbq sauce, if your going to want the best wings. I have tried many sauces and you will not believe it.

But the NO NAME BBQ sauce from Walmart is our favorite!! We have all kinds in our fridge in which we never use, but this one. Man oh man is so good! See my picture below for the brand I LOVE!

WHAT IS AIR FRYING?

Air frying is a healthy alternative to deep frying food. And most air fryers have been marketed in a way to make you think that this cooking technique is best for those who make a lot of those at home.  

Well I am here to tell you that you do not need to just be a deep fried food lover to want to use this cooking method. RATHER if you love to bake food, then this is also a great alternative. And in most cases is much healthier than traditional baking methods. 

Because air frying mimics deep fried foods but uses little to no oil. And if your cooking something fatty, the fat will drip away and off the food.

So you can enjoy all the same deep – fried or baked foods that we have all come to know and love again but in a healthy way.

The air hot air is what cooks the food not the oil. If you have some frozen foods on hand, feel free to throw out any deep fryer you may have because the air fryer can now do the same job. 

But it is not only frozen food that can be cooked this way, pretty much any food you can think of can. 

CAN I USE ANY KIND OF AIR FRYER?

YES! 

I currently have and use the T-fal ActiFry Fryer

Also on occasion I will use my Gotham Steel Fryer as well. *Goes direct in the oven.

Both tools work well for this recipe! 

 

 

HOW TO COOK CHICKEN IN THE AIR FRYER?

  • If your using a Kitchen Top Air Fryer, follow your Air fryers cooking instructions for chicken wings.
  • Then coat the Chicken Wings in BBQ sauce.
  • Marinated the chicken for 15 minutes before air frying.
  • Place the Chicken Wings in or on the Air Fryer and allow it to do the Cooking.
  • The Chicken will be ready in 30 minutes! 

HOW TO COOK CHICKEN ON THE GOTHAM STEEL AIR FRYER? 

  • If your using the Gotham Steel Crisper I would advise to turn your oven to Conventional bake, which will make the chicken extra crispy. Otherwise if your oven does not have that setting you can simply place the crisper on the middle rack, which works well too.
  • Follow the same instructions above. 

Plus if you use the Gotham Air Fryer it is super simple to clean, I am talking hard sticky food at the bottom of the tray slides right off. No scrubbing at all is needed, it could not be more simpular guys.

Another reason I like the Gotham Air Fryer is because it cooks more food than the typical table top Air Fryers. Because it has a lot of space on that tray!

If you have a table top Air Fryer all these recipes will work the same. Because Air Fryers all use the same type of cooking techniques. 

IS AIR FRYER CHICKEN KETO?

Yes! However the BBQ sauce may not be so it’s best to read the label.
