Black Bean Pork Vegetables Stir fry

Here a great recipe “Black Bean Pork Vegetables Stir fry “ it goes great alongside a warm bowl of Jasmine rice.

HOW TO MAKE BLACK BEAN PORK

  • Start by making the sauce, by adding 2 tbsp of cornstarch to 5 tbsp of water and blend.
  • Then add in the black bean sauce, honey, ginger, garlic chili and stir to combine.
  • Then slicing up the boneless pork, once that is done.
  • Heat up a wok or non stick frying pan with 2 tbsp of sesame oil and saute the pork till browned.
  • Then pour in the sauce and saute for another 2 minutes before adding in your vegetables of choice and sesame seeds.
  • Saute everything together for a remaining 15 minutes before serving as is or over a bed of jasmine rice.
  • Season with salt to taste, enjoy!

I tend to use broccoli most times for this recipe. However today I had a bag of frozen Asian vegetables that I used instead.

Made with boneless pork tenderloin, black bean sauce, corn starch, honey a few spices. That you’re sure to enjoy, plus it’s quick and can be on the table in less than 30 minutes.

I like to use a frozen vegetable mixture on those days where I am pressed for time.

So for this recipe, I have used one of my favorite frozen “Asian vegetable mixes” which has broccoli, carrots, green beans, water crescents in it.

However you can use whatever vegetables you like.

Fresh or frozen will work, just make sure that if your using frozen to defrost them prior to cooking.

Homemade Fresh Cherry Pie

I’m baking up a delicious cherry pie today with a buttery flaky crust. I like to use the Dr. Oetker pie crust because it gives me a perfect crust every time. All you need is cold butter and water along with a rolling pin and you will be in business.

One of my favorite summer desserts is cherry pie, I guess its to do with the fact that cherries are in the height of the season now and go so good in a pie.

My Galette cherry pie is very similar to this recipe in many ways, however the crusts are just different. I do not recommend using frozen cherries for this recipe as they hold way to much water and then you will end up with a watery pie.

Now I don’t know about you, but I was never a fan of the store bought cherry pie. Once I started making my own pies at home, I knew right away what i have been missing all along.

This pie has just the right amount of butter crust, cherries, lemon juice, egg, vanilla extract and powdered sugar to make anyone’s mouth water. I hope you give it a try, because it’s something special to be able to say I made this myself, enjoy!

It’s ready to go into the oven, cant hardly wait!!

Note: You can serve this along with ice cream or whip cream.

Chinese Beef Pepper Steak

Skip the takeout tonight and try this “Chinese Beef Pepper Steak” instead.

It is absolutely delicious and so healthy for you. So feel free to indulge and sharing is not mandatory!

I like good quality chinese food and will seek it out when the craving hits.

I lean more towards those authentic type dishes than those americanized sweet ones.

This dish definitely delivers on those authentic flavors.

So if your like me and prefer a more authentic stir fry too then you’re definitely going to want to add this recipe collection!

Sauteed in the most delicious sauce your family won’t believe this didn’t come from delivery.

So what is in that secret sauce anyway? Well it’s a simple combination of  oyster sauce, soya sauce, cornstarch, sugar, rice vinegar and some great spices.

You are sure to be reminded of your best dining experience at your favorite asian restaurant with this one.

Your wanting to use a fast fry steak here and simple marinade it for 15 minutes prior to ensure it is as tender as possible.

To do that slice the steak against the grain and marinade it in a bit of baking soda then after the 15 minutes is up your going to run that clean under cold water.

Then add all the “sauce” ingredients back into a bowl with the cleaned steak and now your ready to pull it all together in the wok!

Meanwhile, while the steak is marinating in the sauce you can get your rice going either on the stove or in your rice cooker and also chop up all the vegetables = Red and Green peppers, onions, garlic and ginger.

Then the rest of the dish takes less than 15 minutes to pull together, talk about easy enough eh?

For this recipe you can throw in practically any type of vegetable in, sometimes will throw broccoli and snap peas for another version.

However this version is definitely my all time favorite, I could eat this once per week or more and sometimes i do 🙂

I like to serve this with some cooked jasmine rice on the side, I hope you give it I would love to know what you think?

Black Pepper Chicken

This Black Pepper Chicken stir fry is just like the kind of recipe you would order from in your favorite restaurant.

Love this recipe? Then you may want to try my Black Pepper Shrimp Recipe too!

With just two chicken breasts you can feed a family of four easily.

So what are you waiting for?

By the time you dial up your local restaurant, you can have this delicious and authentic stir fry on the table.

This Black Pepper Chicken recipe is 100% keto and is something the whole family can enjoy!

This whole dish sauteed in a simple delicious sauce that is sure to curb your take-out craving for tonight!

Leaving everyone in your household asking for seconds or maybe even thirds.

WHAT IS IN BLACK PEPPER CHICKEN

  • Oyster sauce
  • Soya sauce
  • Ginger
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Cornstarch

What makes this stir fry one of my favorites is that it is packed with plenty of fibrous vegetables.

Such as broccoli, peppers, onions and celery.

WHAT ELSE CAN GO INTO BLACK PEPPER CHICKEN STIR FRY

Protein; Chicken, Beef, Pork, Shrimp, Calamari

Vegetables; snap peas, snow peas, bok choy, eggplant, cauliflower you name it.

Me and my partner used to go out every week for Chinese food, we enjoy it that much.

However now a days, I like to make these type of dishes at home.

It not only saves us a ton of money it is also much healthier. Since you can add more vegetables and different kinds to suit your individual taste.

This combination is my favorite, however I do sometimes like to add bok choy and snap peas too.

HOW TO MAKE BLACK PEPPER CHICKEN

  • You will want to start by making the rice “I like to use my rice cooker”
  • Then make the sauce, then set aside
  • Then you will want to chop all your vegetables then set aside
  • Same with the chicken
  • In a frying pan/work add 1 cup of water then all the vegetables, broccoli first and stir fry over medium heat for roughly 3 minutes till the vegetables are tender yet crisp. Remove the veggies strain and set aside!
  • Then in the same frying pan/work add 1 tbsp of sesame oil and cook the diced chicken over medium heat till no longer pink. Then add in the sliced onion and saute one more minute before adding in the sauce.
  • Mix everything together then add in the steamed veggies, 1/4 cup of water and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve alongside rice if desired, enjoy!

Chinese food is typically healthier for you than most foods and this dish definitely is one of those healthy dishes.

So do not be ashamed if you eat the whole plate yourself.

I mean it is really packed full of lean protein = chicken breasts.

And lots and lots of vegetables!

IS BLACK PEPPER CHICKEN HEALTHY

Yes, it sure is however does have a fair amount of sodium.

So if your on a sodium diet, please use just the Oyster sauce and omit the soya.

This stir fry is so darn delicious that i’m confident it will be one of those recipes that you will want to keep in your recipe book.

And truthfully this is the best homemade Black Pepper Chicken Stir Fry that we have tried ever!

How can I make claims like that?

Well first off this is one of my favorite Asian dishes and so I have tried many different recipes throughout the years.

Not to mention I have ordered this dish at many of the Asian restaurants over the years and this one is defiantly up there in taste.

The only difference between my dish and those in the restaurants, is that they tend to bring it on sizzling hot plate.

And well, I have yet to do that myself.

That is not to say you can’t, for the wow factor.

I like to serve this with jasmine rice on the side, and will use a mini rice cooker to cook the rice. Just set it and it will be ready when the dish is completed.

This recipe does have a bit of a sauce, so serving this dish alongside some Jasmine rice is always good.

However if you are wanting to serve this as is feel free to add 1 tbsp of cornstarch to the sauce vs 1 tsp.

This will help to thicken it up even more leaving very little sauce.

Meal Prep Idea: Make enough to create a few meal prep bowls for the week ahead

Notes: Make it with shrimp, beef or tofu too. You may use any other vegetables you have on hand such as snow peas, red onions etc will work well too.

Also you can replace the black pepper with white pepper if desired. And add more water to create more of a sauce if putting this over rice.

Liked this recipe then you will want to try my Black Pepper Shrimp recipes as well.

Cherry Cheesecake

This No Bake Cherry Cheesecake is simply my favorite way to eat a Cherry cheesecake.

I have brought this cheesecake over to a few friends and family, and everyone says the same thing = YUM!

I have had people begging me for the recipe, and believe me when I say.

There is no other Cherry Cheesecake that I have tried, that even compares to this nothing.

Maybe I am bias because I do love fresh cherries so much or maybe it’s true, I’ll let you be the judge of your creation.

Because you don’t live near a bakery doesn’t mean you have to go without cheesecake. ~ Hedy Lamarr

But let me tell you, no store bought or restaurant made has ever impressed me like this recipes does.

It probably has a whole lot to do with those cherries you see on top, as they do not come from a tin can.

That would be just wrong!

WHAT IS CHERRY CHEESECAKE

  • It is a basic cheescake that is topped with fresh cooked cherries.

IS CHERRY CHEESECAKE GLUTEN FREE

No, the Graham Cracker crust has gluten.

These cherries are fresh, making every bite unbelievably decadent.

Some people like a lot of cherries on their cheesecake, while others like very little.

I am on the “like a lot side”, I mean a lot!

HOW TO MAKE CHERRY CHEESECAKE

If you are using frozen cherries, keep in mind that you will need to drain them well so you don’t get an overly watery topping.

As for the crust you can bake it or allow it to chill in the fridge prior to filling, both methods will be provided to you below in the recipe card.

  • I use 3 cups of cherries for a 8 inch cheesecake.
  • if you’re wanting less cherries, then use 2 cups or you can use a 9 inch cake pan for a larger cake.
  • First, you will start by making the crust.
  • Then the cream cheese filling
  • Lastly, you will cook the cherries on the stovetop. Then allow it to cool down before topping the cheesecake with them.

I hope you enjoy this dessert as much as we do.

Note: Place your cake back in the freezer or it will melt, this cheesecake is best chilled frozen.

Chinese Chicken Broccoli Stir fry

This Chinese Chicken Broccoli Stir fry takes less than 30 minutes to make too, I know you will LOVE it!

IS CHINESE CHICKEN BROCCOLI HEALTHY

Heck yes, this recipe is packed full of lean protein and low calorie leafy green vegetables!

This dish is simmered in an authentic chinese sauce and is sure to remind you of being at your favorite chinese restaurant.

The first time I tried Chinese Broccoli, was a few years back. I saw it ordered by a couple at the table next to me.

I then asked our server, what was that?

The waitress said “Gai lan” with a strong accent, I said Gay lan?

She said YES “Gai Lan” it’s Chinese Broccoli, do you want?

YES please!!

Then it came to 0ur table in a creamy hot chinese sauce and I was hooked.

I have always liked Broccoli but this stuff was even better!

This dish can be made with beef too which is also amazing.

Plus, I was pleasantly surprised to find out it carries all the same health benefits as the common broccoli that most of us are more accustomed to.

Over the years, I have experimented with cooking Gai Lan.

Though it is excellent served on it’s own, this has to be one of my most favorite ways to serve it.

I don’t know why I used to be intimidated by chinese cooking, I guess it was because it was not something I was ever accustomed to making.

However I’ve now learned that true chinese cooking is pretty simple, you just want to make sure your using the right sauces and techniques to produce an authentic dish.

HOW TO MAKE CHINESE CHICKEN BROCCOLI

  • The trick when cooking this dish is to not overcook the broccoli, because you want it tender yet crisp.
  • And to do that, bring a pot of water a medium boil and then simply place the washed chinese broccoli it in to boil for no more than 2 minutes.
  • Remove it immediately and place it directly in a pot of cold water to cool down. Simple enough eh?
  • The last time the broccoli will see direct heat, is at the end of preparing this dish. Where you will mix it together with the chicken and sauce allowing it to simmer before serving.
  • For the cabbage you want to place it in the boiling water, 2 minutes before the Chinese Broccoli this gives it the perfect time to tenderize while not overcooking the broccoli.

Prairie Pot Roast

This is one of the easiest and most delicious recipes for a Prairie Pot Roast.

My partner has been requesting this recipe for sometime now. And it’s not that I don’t like roast, it’s just I may be all roasted out.

I basically grew up eating this all day everyday or so it seemed. However, just because I am not crazy over pot roast anymore. Doesn’t mean I can’t cook a good one.

After all, I learned a thing or two over the years watching my family prepare this meal over and over again.

Sorry it has taken this long hun! But here it is my family’s favorite way to cook a Roast. And yes i’m certain your going to love it!

Today, I tend to lean more towards recipes that are new or of another culture. I guess, you can say my tastes have changed over the years.  So if you are a roast lover like the rest of them, then this recipe is definitely a keeper because it’s super tasty, tender and easy to prepare.

Some people like to cook there roasts in red wine, I much prefer the acidity of red wine vinegar plus it’s cheaper. Then adding in some worcestershire sauce and the right spices will have this roast kicked up a notch.

My partner who is a huge pot roast fan, gives this recipe his “A”+  rating of approval. And after tasting this early last week has been begging me to make it again soon. I hope you let me know what you think in the comments below, Bon appetit.
