Easy Beef Ramen recipe

You can skip the takeout tonight and make this Easy Beef Ramen recipe noodle stir fry instead. It is super easy to make as it uses instant noodles and sliced beef, green onions and peppers.

This dish can be ready in less than 20 minutes, easy and delicious!

This dish is made with flank steak, red bell peppers, green onions.

Along with Ichiban ramen noodles that are simmered in a garlic, ginger sauce that you’re sure to enjoy.

HOW TO MAKE this Beef Ramen recipe

  • My recipe calls for allot less oil than most recipes out there, you really don’t need a lot anyway.
  • That is unless you want super crispy beef? I find the tender beef to be best for this recipe.
  • Also you can use plain ramen noodles instead of the Ichiban variety. However if you do then you will want to use beef stock in replace of the water along with 1 tbsp of soya sauce.
  • That is because I mix the pre packaged ichiban seasoning with 2 cups of water for this recipe.

Your method to preparing this is totally up to you!!

The kind I used – feel free to use plain ramen noodles and omit the water for beef stock.

I have always loved ramen noodles, I have tried almost every kind. My favorite is ichiban and that is why I used them in this recipe.

However if your trying to limit your salt intake then you can substitute the seasoning that comes in that ramen package and use beef stock  instead.

Whichever method you choose you still can have dinner on the table tonight in under 30 minutes time. It doesn’t get any easier or tastier than this for beef ramen noodles.

The origins of ramen noodles originated from Japan however the chinese are the ones who brought it over in the mid 1800’s making this recipe more chinese.

It’s absolutely delicious!

If you end up giving it a try I would love to hear what you think of it in the comments below.

This super satisfying recipe is sure to hit the spot tonight!

You can always skip the chicken and make this a vegan dish. I hope you give it a try, Bon Appetit!

It is made with white or brown mushrooms and Chinese chow mein noodles.

If you follow my blog at all you will know that I love to make takeout inspired recipes often. I test and test them to ensure I am coming up with the healthiest and best version for my readers.

I used to spend a lot of money on takeout, now I just make it at home. Pretty much every other day, depending on how I’m feeling. Asian cuisine has to be one of my favorites, however I do love Indian and other cuisines nearly as much.

What I like about making Chow Mein at home is that I can remove the msgs that are in most takeout dishes, while saving a ton of money cooking them at home.

IS MUSHROOM CHOW MEIN VEGAN

Not if you put Oyster sauce in it, if you want you can use Hoisin instead then it would be.

However this recipe is 100% vegetarian as it is made with just Mushrooms and Chinese bok choy.

Trust me, you won’t miss the meat with this one. It’s so satisfying, you’ll be craving it time and time again.

However if you want to add meat, go ahead and pick up some fast fry beef or chicken and saute that right along side the mushrooms.

But with my recipe it’s foolproof, if you follow it to a tea you will be in Chow Mein Heaven!

  • In a separate pan, fry the mushrooms and bok choy till soft.
  • Make the sauce and add the mushrooms and bok choy to the noodles.

Cashew Chicken is one of my favorite Thai dishes, I will order it everytime I go to a Thai restaurant. Some prepare it so well and others not. Sometimes you will find it to sweet and others will not have enough cashews or will just crush them making it hard to notice.

So when I find a restaurant that does it well, I definitely will leave them a good review on tripadvisor.

I love making this dish at home though, and that is because I can really tweak it to my liking.

My dish is made with fresh chicken breasts, crispy broccoli, sliced carrots, fresh garlic and ginger and sauteed in an amazing asian sauce that you’re sure to love.

All the ingredients found in this dish can be located at pretty much any large grocery.

Once you learn to make this simple Cashew Chicken at home, you will be making it more often Guaranteed!

WHERE WAS CASHEW CHICKEN INVENTED

This is somewhat of a complicated question, today it is known to come from Thailand and is a very popular street food expectaill in Bangkok. However, most Thai people will say it was brought over by the chinese.

IS CASHEW CHICKEN GLUTEN FREE

No, Cashew Chicken is not Gluten free. Because of the Oyster sauce and other asian ingredients listed.

IS CASHEW CHICKEN HEALTHY

Yes, just look at all those vegetables and lean chicken meat in this dish. Also it is a great meal option for those on a Keto Diet. Because it is made with Skinless Chicken breasts and an array of vegetables.

The hardest part about making homemade Cashew Chicken is “chopping those vegetables”. Once you have that part done, the rest comes together in a snap.

This whole meal can be pulled together in less than 30 minutes.

HOW TO MAKE CASHEW CHICKEN STIR FRY

You can use a wok or skillet, I used a wok because that is what I had available.

  • First you will want to start by rinsing and slicing the chicken then again into medium bite size pieces.
  • Then add the chicken to the bowl and marinade with cornstarch, salt and shaoxing wine.
  • For a minimum of 30 minutes in the fridge.
  • Meanwhile, wash and prepare the vegetables. By dicing the broccoli florets along with the carrots.
  • Then bring a wok/pan of water to a bowl, turn down the heat and add the broccoli florets in flipping over and over for 30 seconds.
  • Remove with a strainer and set aside.
  • Do the same with the carrots.
  • Once the vegetables have been simmered, keep the water in the wok/pan.
  • Then add in the chicken, be careful not to stir too much as you don’t want to marinade to all come off.
  • Simmer in the water for roughly 5 minutes till the chicken has poached
  • Remove the chicken, strain and set up top of the vegetables.
  • Dump the water, then and the sauce to the same wok/pan.
  • Add back in the chicken and saute for 2 minutes before adding back in the vegetables.
  • Saute all together adding in the cornstarch/water mixture and saute till thick for another 2 minutes
  • Serve and enjoy!

HOW TO MAKE CASHEW CHICKEN SAUCE

Some people use Hoisin sauce in there sauce, I prefer Oyster which makes it less sweet.

  • Oyster Sauce – feel free to use Hoisin
  • Soy sauce
  • Cornstarch
  • Sesame oil
  • Shaoxing wine
  • Chicken stock or Vegetable
  • Sugar
  • White pepper

IS CASHEW CHICKEN SWEET

Cashew chicken should not be only sweet, however there are some places that make it sweet. Traditional Cashew Chicken should have a balance of flavors. Which make it sweet, spicy and savory!

WHAT TO SERVE WITH CASHEW CHICKEN

Basmati rice goes really well alongside this dish.

Vegetable Egg Drop Soup

Warm up to a BIG Bowl of  the most delicious “Vegetable Egg Drop Soup“. This popular Chinese soup it’s super simple to make and believe it or not very filling. Not to mention inexpensive and addicting!

We are in the middle of winter here now in Canada and people have been getting sick left right and center with colds and the flu. Me included, whenever this time of year rolls around I tend to stay home more and prepare heartwarming soups for me and whoever is around.

Egg drop soup is one of those easy to make and hearty soups that warms the body and heals it too. Now what more could you want in  a soup? Matter of fact after this post I will make some. I could it this soup all day everyday!

I always order egg drop soup whenever I go to any chinese restaurant, I just love it. Most restaurants serve it without the vegetables, however I like to add vegetable to it as it makes it more filling and healthy and can serve as the main course this way.

Which I will enjoy for lunch or dinner whenever I’m in the mood.

This recipe is quick to make because all we are doing is basically bringing the soup to a simmer and cooking it over medium heat for roughly 15 minutes.

If you want bigger chunks of egg then you will want to stir it less near the end. I prefer it more like this so I will stir it allot near the end so it breaks up. Also you can add three to four eggs if desired, after all it’s your soup.

The type of frozen mixed Vegetables I like to use

Also make sure your using a quality chicken stock, because you will be adding some low sodium soy sauce that will allow for just the right amount of salt in this soup.

I am so thrilled you are reading one of my recipes, if you made this recipe i’d love to hear how it turned out! You can post a review/picture below or via Instagram and let me know.
