This Flying Dutchman Burger (In-N-Out) recipe is a replica of what you would find from an In-N-Out fast food restaurant but better because it is BIGGER, fresher and homemade. The Burger is also keto as it has no bun just meat, cheese and grilled onions. Serve with a homemade In-N-Out in house sauce for the full experience!

You got to love grilled onions to enjoy this recipe, oh yeah and burgers! If you said heck yes, then you just found the best burger recipe in town.

WHAT IS A FLYING DUTCHMAN BURGER

It is a burger that has been made famous from a popular takeout fast food restaurant in the USA called In-N-Out burger. 

The Flying Dutchman Burger is 100% keto as it has no bun, rather it is 2 meat patties and 2 cheese slices stuffed in-between grilled onions to create the burger.

Here in Canada we do not yet have an In-N-Out restaurant. But if you are on Tiktok as of late you may have seen this burger being eaten by many American influencers. I have found the recipe across many of there channels and just made mine BIGGER and i think better.

I made mine with regular hamburger meat you can use lean meat to make it healthier!

Also note, this recipe makes 2 burgers. If you want to feed more people double it up etc.

Best Southern Black Eyed beans (peas) recipe

What to do with LEFT OVER HAM? Make this Best Southern Black Eyed beans (peas) recipe. It has leftover ham in it along with smoked bacon. So follow along and get ready to be blown away.

This is the only way I will make Southern Black Eyed beans (peas) these days! I came across this recipe online when I was looking for a way to use leftover Ham from our Christmas Holiday’s feast. 

I then added some smoked bacon also to this recipe and instead of the regular chicken stock, I used pre-made pork bone broth. I have had black eyed peas before but this recipe is a KEEPER!! Be sure not to add any additional salt as the bacon and ham flavors it well enough.

WHAT IS IN SOUTHER BLACK EYED BEANS (PEAS)

Black-eyed peas
Pork broth
Bacon and
Ham
Onion
Garlic
Creole seasoning
Fresh thyme
Bay leaf
Pepper 

What to serve with Southern Black Eyed beans (peas)

  • Cornbread
  • Collard Greens or any green vegetable
  • Mashed potatoes 
  • Rice

HOW LONG TO SOAK BLACK EYED PEAS

You wan to rince then cover the beans for a minimum of 6 hours, 3 cups of water is needed for 1 cup of raw beans. I highly recommend soaking the beans overnight! As this lessens the cooking time and also helps to make those beans CREAMY and SOFT!

How to cook black eyed peas Southern style

First off you want to get ahold of RAW BLACK EYED PEAS in the South of America they always used raw beans. Which are then soaked overnight ideally.

  • Rinse dry black-eyed pea beans, pick through, and discard any foreign objects. Add beans to a large pot and cover with 3-4 inches of cold water. Let sit for 2-3 hours (or overnight).

  • In a large, heavy sauté pan, saute chopped bacon until brown and crispy (4-5 minutes), then add sausage and saute for 2-3 more minutes. Remove bacon and sausage mixture, and set aside.

  • Throw in the onions, celery, garlic, jalapenos, thyme, and bay leaf, and saute for 3-5 minutes until the onions are wilted and aromatic. 

  • Then pour in the chicken broth or water.

  • Drain the soaked beans, rinse, and place them in the pot. Season with Creole seasoning and pepper to taste.

    Add to a large pot or slow cooker (ideally) and simmer on medium-low heat for 8 hours.

  • Once done, test the beans for softens and remove the bay leaf.

  • Top with chopped green onion.

Seafood Boil Butter Sauce

This Seafood Boil Butter Sauce recipe starts with a homemade onion, garlic butter sauce that is served with steamed crab legs, hard boiled eggs, shrimp and potatoes. You can pull this all together in under 3o minutes!

If you love seafood but want to elevate the regular garlic butter sauce to a rich butter dipping sauce then your going to want to try this recipe!

You can also add corn on the cob to this boil if desired or other seafood such as mussels, lobster etc.

Serve with fresh lemon wedges which make the seafood flavors pop!

WHAT IS SEAFOOD BOIL SAUCE MADE OF

Butter and Chicken stock along with fresh onions, garlic and special mix of seasonings 

You can omit the chicken stock if desired, however it will be less healthy as butter does have allot of fats.

But to each there own! Make it as you wish 🙂

HOW TO MAKE SEAFOOD BOIL SAUCE

  • You can use all butter or half it as I like to do with the addition of chicken stock
  • Then you are going to want to slice some fresh onions and chop some garlic and sauté it in butter alone
  • Start with the onions and add the minced garlic in once the onions are soft and cooked well
  • Toss in the spices and chicken stock if desired and simmer for 5 mins to serve

SEAFOOD BOIL SEASONING

  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Lemon pepper
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp Red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 tbsp Cajun

WET ingredients 

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 

2 tbsp lemon juice 

SEAFOOD BOIL SAUCE FOR EGGS

This sauce can be made just for hard boil eggs too!

WHAT DOES SEAFOOD BOIL SAUCE TASTE LIKE

It is buttery, garlicy sauce that can be made more sweet than spicy or spicy than sweet with hints of salt and lemon juice for a rounded flavor.

My recipe here has a balance of all these flavors. If you want it more sweet, simply add more brown sugar or more spicy add more Cajun or Cayenne pepper to the sauce during cooking it.

WHAT GOES IN SEAFOOD BOIL SAUCE

This Leftover Turkey Sandwich with Gravy is super simple to make as it utilizes your leftover Turkey and gravy from your meal before. Such a delicious quick way to enjoy your holiday food on the following day! I highly recommend heating up the ingredients, it is just that much more better!

My family requests these sandwiches every time the holidays are over. 

So after the holidays, when you have all that leftover turkey. I hope you think of this recipe as well, it is a real winner. And not to mention a total fuss free meal option!

My #1 favorite leftover turkey and gravy recipe that is for sure. 

Prior to making it, you will simply want to go to your local grocer and pick up some of the nicest sandwich buns you can find. Then simply place either some cold or warm turkey onto a buttered bun and top with cold or warm gravy!

Then simply stuff those buns with some of that leftover reheated turkey meat, stuffing and gravy.

And wulla, you will have yourself the most delicious Hot Turkey Sandwich!

Basically any type of side can be served along this type of sandwich. Think Thanksgiving or Christmas day leftovers!

Simple Chicken Quinoa Soup recipe

This Simple Chicken Quinoa Soup is the perfect way to make a comforting dish that’s both easy to make and packed with flavor. Plus, this recipe is full of protein, fiber, and vitamins, making it an ideal meal for lunch or dinner. 

This warm and hearty soup is packed with protein, complex carbohydrates, and a variety of vitamins and minerals to give your body a boost of energy.

Not to mention, the soup is rich in flavor and ready to eat in only 20 minutes. So if you’re looking for a quick and healthy meal, quinoa chicken soup is the perfect option.

HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN QUINOA SOUP

  • In a large pot add 2 tbsp of butter and sauté your onion and garlic for 1 min till fragrant
  • Add in the chicken BONE stock along with your chicken breasts and cover and simmer for 15 mins on medium-low heat till the chicken breasts is cooked.
  • Remove the breasts and shred
  • Meanwhile, toss in your broccoli and carrots slices along with Quinoa and cover
  • Simmer for 10 mins, toss back in your shredded chicken and uncover serve once the quinoa is cooked.
  • Enjoy!

You may make this with a pre-made chicken stock such as Campbells if that is all you have. 

Or you can use a chicken bone broth which I used from stewing down a whole chicken. I do that often and then use freeze the broth that has been made for soups such as this one.

Packed full of feel good nutrients from the carrots, onions, broccoli and chickens broth not to mention the addition of Quinoa. Which just adds even more healthy benefits.

Strawberry Pina Colada Daiquiri

When life hands you Strawberries make Strawberry Pina Coladas Daiquiri. This beverage can be enjoyed with or without the alcohol and is super refreshing either way!

I just love this drink, it’s fresh, fruity and sure hits the sweet spot in a healthy way!

Whenever I have company over I will usually add some Bacardi to this beverage.

And on really hot days, I’ll also crush some ice cubes into it as well which makes it super amazing!

I encourage you to try both varieties to see what works best for you.

Wanting to try it with another fruit? Go right ahead, it’s also great with oranges, raspberries and peaches too!

How to Make Strawberry Pina Colada daiquiri

  • Start by pouring your strawberries, lime juice in a blender and mix until combine. (You can also add in ice cubes if you want more of a frozen drink)
  • Remove the mixture from the blender and place into a large glass.
  • Next add in your pineapple juice filling the cup up to 3/4 of the cup.
  • Lastly pour your Cream of Coconut over-top.
  • Stir and serve with with a straw. Enjoy!
