Homemade Iced Latte

This Homemade Iced Latte recipe produces a rich and delicious drink! Not to mention it will save you a ton of money this summer, once you learn to make them in batches like this that will last you through the week.

If you’re in a hurry or just need a iced latte NOW, then you can follow this recipe for an “instant latte”

HOMEMADE ICE LATTE

  • Water
  • Ground Coffee
  • Flavored Coffee Creamer
  • Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • Ice Cubes

Anyone want an iced latte? Well I’m not going to the coffee shop for you. Because I won’t even for myself anymore. But I can show you how to make one in a fraction of the time at home.

Plus at this rate, I won’t even be able to make it to the coffee shop anymore. Because my car won’t start, because this darn pandemic has me penny pinching at every corner now.

And I’m not about to embarrass myself and ride a horse through the drive-thru to get one either. Do I look like like these guys to you? I think not.

I’m gonna stay right here where it’s safe. And you will too, once you learn to make your own iced lattes at home.

Now if you’re anything like me, you’re a huge coffee addict!

It’s practically a past time to sip hot cups of coffee in the mornings for most people these days. Which really is like a warm hug on those chilly winter/fall/spring mornings up here in the great white north.

However even when summer comes around, most of us are still drinking our coffees hot around here.

And during the summer we are also drinking them cold, addicts I tell ya!

And it’s getting ridiculous cause most of us are spending absurd amounts of money doing this, since our local shops are now charging around $4 dollars a cup.

So what if I told you that you don’t have to do that anymore? No seriously it should be a crime, because if you start making them at home you can use that hard earned money elsewhere. This is my favorite way to make large batches of iced lattes, which last me throughout the week.

HOW TO MAKE ICED LATTE WITH INSTANT COFFEE?

If you’re in a hurry or just need a iced latte NOW, then you can follow this recipe for an “instant latte” recipeI will make one cup at a time and uses instant coffee mix. This recipe here will make 12 cups of coffee which = 3 liters. So follow along with me here if you want a larger batch to last throughout the week. Trust me your going to save a lot of money this way, I promise.

ICED LATTE WITH ALMOND MILK

I like to use almond milk because it’s low in fat vs regular milk, then I feel less guilty using my regular “double double” sweetener. Obviously you can use whatever sweetener suits you best, if your on a calorie restricted diet I would recommend agave nectar, just make sure you dissolve it in the coffee brew while it’s hot.

Also, please keep in mind what type of container your allowing the coffee to cool down in. If you are using a glass container to store your brew like I do.

Then please make sure you allow the coffee to cool down first in an ice bath or on the counter prior to placing it in any glass container otherwise it may break.

Once your coffee has cooled enough, place it in your jar/container and leave it in the fridge to chill for 2 hours or overnight. Then when you’re in the mood for a refreshing iced latte, simply pour over a glass of ice, and then add your favorite milk + sweetener!

I hope you start to enjoy making your own batches at home, trust me your friends/family are gonna love you for it. Anyone want an iced latte?

Note: You can pour your cooled coffee into ice cubes and use that instead of regular ice cubes. This creates a stronger latte.

Maple Butter Syrup Spread

This authentic Maple Butter Syrup Spread is easy to make and is an excellent condiement to have in the home during the winter months. I like to serve in on toast or over pancakes. If you have never tried a homemade Maple Butter Recipe before then you are in for a treat!

WHATS MAPLE BUTTER

It is a syrup and butter all in one with no other artificial fillers. That is often smeared on toast for breakfast!

Growing up in Canada, my family had this in the house alongside other types of syrups.

It was my absolute favorite and I am so happy to share the recipe here with you today!

Trust me, you won’t ever want to go back to that artificial syrup ever again, once you try pure Maple Butter!

Spread that good stuff on your pancakes, waffles, french toast or toast. It’s a must have item in the fridge for breakfasts if you ask me. Bone Appetite!

HOW TO MAKE MAPLE BUTTER RECIPE

Some recipes online will have you thinking, it’s difficult to make this.

Well let me tell you it is not, just be careful when cooking the syrup is all.

Because it’s hot and can burn someone bad if not handled correctly. Simply follow my picture steps and instructions below and you can make a batch in no time.

HOW DO THEY MAKE MAPLE BUTTER

You will want to heat the syrup to approximately 10 °C (18 °F) above the boiling point of water, and allow it to cool to around 52 °C (125 °F), and stirring until it reaches a smooth consistency.

Stores in the fridge for up to a month’s time, or place in the freezer covered with some saran wrap over top and pull it out 15 minutes before you’re going to use it and this way it can last even longer.

PATE CHINOIS RECIPE

Has lean ground hamburger, potatoes, cream corn and some seasonings in it.

WHY DO THEY CALL IT PATE CHINOIS

And the answer to that is found online and that is that Chinese people who helped build the railroads in the early 1700 also had a part in creating this dish which in English translates to Chinese Pie.

WHERE DOES PATE CHINOIS COME FROM

It is actually a French Canadian classic dish that originates out Quebec and has both French and Acadian origins.

White Chocolate Cranberry Shortbread Cookies

The Magic of Christmas is in the air with these White Chocolate Cranberry Shortbread cookies. Can you feel it?

Wanting another holiday cookie recipe? Try my White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies

Shortbread always brings back memories of Christmas for me. Having grown up in a large family these where always sure to be there on the living room table for everyone to enjoy! Along with Ginger Snap Cookies and White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies.

I miss those days honestly, when my Grandma and older folks where around and all of my family lived in one city.

Personally, I just love the Christmas Season because this is about the only time that I really start to embrace the colder months.

The nights get darker fast and everyone stays inside in most parts of Canada.

However, that does not stop people from celebrating as they decorate their houses with pretty lights that light almost every street.

Which creates a warm glow in the dark of night and creates a warmth only Christmas brings.

It is just so pretty when the snow hits these lights because it literally glistens.

Creating a magical joyful feeling that is hard to ignore, I have even seen many Ebenezer Scrooge’s change overnight with the help of someone’s offer of warm cookies.

What is Christmas without a little home baking?

And if you ask me shortbread is definitely something that can’t be skipped.

Nothing beats homemade shortbread, so I encourage you to try them this year. Once you try these cookies, I’m certain you’ll be requested to make them again.

And the nice thing is you can make these ahead of time and store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a month.

Where you can bring them along for others to enjoy wherever you may go this holiday season.

Having tried several shortbread recipes throughout the years, I’m now sharing one of my favorites with you.

The combination of the soft and flaky shortbread, along with the tartness from the cranberries and sweetness from the white chocolate make this cookie so lovely.

HOW TO MAKE CRANBERRY SHORTBREAD COOKIES

You will need: directions in the recipe card below.

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 cups butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER’S White Chocolate (6 oz.), chopped
  • 1-1/2 cups dried cranberries

Wishing you and yours’s a Joyful and peaceful Christmas and New Year.

Notes: After cookies are completely cooled, place in airtight container or plastic freezer bag.  Keep the dough refrigerated if you are going to be making these in batches. Also keep in mind the dough is not meant to be sticky like other cookies this is shortbread after all.
