Brazilian Shrimp Stew

This Brazilian Shrimp Stew is absolutely mouthwatering dish that can be served in less than 15 minutes. You heard that right! 

WHAT IS BRAZILIAN SHRIMP STEW

Brazilian stews are made with all sorts of fish.

Some have a mixture of fish, while others just focus on one type.

Such as what I did for this recipe here. 

WHAT IS IN BRAZILIAN FISH STEW

Brazilian Fish Stew is cooked in tomatoes, coconut milk along with spices that combine well once served with fresh limes.

This recipe is defiantly a KEEPER! 

And it is also super easy to make, your going to love it!

WHAT BRAZILIAN SHRIMP STEW TASTES LIKE

It tastes a lot like my Red Thai Curry recipe.

However there is no actual Red Thai curry added to this dish.

Rather the curry flavors come from actual curry powder. 

I just love the spices in this dish and those deep curry flavors!

WHAT OTHER FISH WORK WELL IN THIS STEW

  • Pretty much any type of fish you can think of would work lovely in this dish.
  • or you can also add chicken breasts in replace of any fish.

HOW TO MAKE BRAZILIAN SHRIMP STEW

You can use whole onions and garlic for this recipe or powder. 

Whichever you have on hand would work. I’ll leave that option up to you. 

  • Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan.
  • Along with the curry paste and diced onions,
  • Saute for several minutes until translucent.
  • Then add the minced garlic and diced red peppers and cook till fragrant.
  • Add in the tomato paste, cayenne pepper and onion powder, saute till fragrant.
  • Add in the shrimp and simmer gently until the shrimp turns opaque.
  • Pour in the coconut milk and simmer on low heat till hot.
  • Serve hot over a bed of rice, along with lime wedges.
  • Enjoy!

WHAT TO SERVE WITH BRAZILIAN SHRIMP STEW

White rice goes well with this stew.

Yes, it is a light meal that has protein, carbs (rice) that is simmered in a delicious curry sauce.

Brazilian Cheese Puffs

These Brazilian Cheese Puffs are the perfect snack food. 

I would like to call this recipe, cheesy cheese puffs.

However nobody would probably find it and I would be stealing a well known recipe  known as “Brazilian Cheese Bread” and be calling it my own.

Which would be so wrong, so instead I’ll keep the word Brazilian and cheese and omit the bread part for puffs 🙂 

I love these little puffs which are stuffed full of shredded parmesan and cheddar cheese and are unbelievably addicting to eat.

However, if you know me you know that I believe everything should be enjoyed in moderation.

So I will limit myself to a maximum of four and day and then will start again the next day. Ha!

Light, fluffy and cheesy is what you will taste when you bite into these little puffs. Made with just a few simple ingredients of tapioca flour, whole milk, parmesan/cheddar cheese, butter, eggs and salt.

Note: You can make and freeze them in a ziplock bag for up to 3 months. Simply remove them from the bag, bake and your ready for more!
