Simple Egg Drop Soup

Egg drop soup is a traditional Chinese soup recipe that is healthy and inexpensive to make. Not to mention super simple as it comes together in less than 15 minutes flat.

Egg drop soup ingredients

  • Chicken stock
  • Corn Starch
  • Eggs
  • Sesame oil
  • Ginger fresh or powdered
  • Soya sauce

HOW DO YOU MAKE EGG DROP SOUP

You want to start with a good chicken stock then simple add all your ingredients to the stock along with beaten eggs, whisk all together and serve hot!

Simple Egg Drop Soup recipe

This soup can be made thicker or thinner depending on the amount of eggs

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Chicken Stock
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/4 tsp Fresh Ginger Root or powder
  • 1 tsp Soya sauce, low sodium
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp Corn Starch
  • 2 tbsp Green Onions
  • pinch Pepper

Instructions

  1. In a medium sized pot bring the chicken stock to a simmer and shave in some fresh ginger or powder
  2. Next add in the soya sauce and sesame oil and simmer on a low heat.
  3. Then in a small bowl whisk together the cornstarch and hot chicken stock and once combined add the mixture slowly to the chicken stock and whisk to combine.
  4. In the same small bowl, add in the eggs and whisk them till combine. Then slowly pour the eggs into the chicken stock mixture along with the green onions and season with pepper to taste.
  5. Simmer till the eggs are cooked and serve, enjoy!
