Chocolate Strawberry Frosty

This Chocolate Strawberry Frosty is super creamy healthy and delicious!

Do you love Strawberries? how about Chocolate? Well then this creamy treat is going to make you very happy.

And since summer is right around the corner, now is a good time to learn to make these types of treats for yourself.

Plus the nice thing is they really take no special skills at all to make, simply make sure everything is cold prior and your good to go!

I admit I used to be one of those people that would get all caught up it it.

Idling my car in those ridiculously long drive thru lineups, just because I needed that cooling taste of a creamy frosty.

I knew they were not very healthy but the reward of a creamy cool down was worth it!

Well I found a way to have that cool cooldown at home and in a much healthier way.

This recipe has the addition of a banana in it, however if you want just a Chocolate Frosty, then you can omit the banana. Easy eh enough eh!

Since these frosties contain all natural ingredients vs some of those unmentionable ones you do find in the restaurant kinds.

You can really feel good about making and serving these to your family and friends on those hot summer days!

A frosty is basically like Chocolate ice cream, made in a similar way. However the trick is to make it with very cold ingredients and to only let it sit in the freezer there after for a minimum of 15 minutes. You do not want it to freeze otherwise it will be more like a ice cream!!

Plus these frostys are super simple to make as only contains 5 ingredients to make it. This recipe makes the most creamy frosties around.

This recipe will make 2 medium sized frosties, however if your wanting to serve more people, simple double to recipe with my easy to use recipe adjuster above.

When making frostys at home, your expected to enjoy them shortly after. Because this is not ice-cream and itt does not need freezing at all. A frosty literally can be made and enjoyed in less than 30 minutes from start to finish!

Just be sure to follow the directions I have listed below and you will be on your way to Strawberry Chocolate frosty heaven!

Northern Lights Ice Cream

The Great White North has some of the most spectacular Northern light displays also known as the aurora borealis.

Which can seen been across many parts of the Northern Canadian provinces during the colder months of the year.

These lights come out to light up the sky with the most beautiful neon bright colors at night that make my heart sore with joy.

So if you’re in Canada and thinking hey, why haven’t I seen the Northern lights yet? Well maybe it’s because you didn’t know when or where they would be on display. Some people travel far to view this natural phenomenon.

While others track them and go view them right in there very own backyards. So we are now into the cold month of February here in Canada, and I thought it was only appropriate to make this ice-cream in honor of them.

Actually this ice-cream has been something that has been on my mind for sometime, but I only found it appropriate to make it now. So how does it tastes?

Well even though there is an array of colors in this ice cream, it actually just tastes like Vanilla.

So if your wanting a hint of some other flavor, I recommend adding some “mint food flavouring” to the green ice cream mixture which will add a nice cooling element than will remind you of the cool lights up north.

There are plenty of legends told by many peoples past and present of what these light may be. Some say they are representations of the dead playing a game with a walrus skull as the “ball.” While others believe their dancing spirits of children who had passed.

The Northern Lights were considered sacred by many native tribes. The Inuit and northern Algonquian tribes believed that the spirits of the dead could be seen in the Northern Lights and that some were spirits of the animals.

While the Icelandic people associated the lights with childbirth and held that they would relieve the pain of delivery as long as the expectant mum didn’t look at the Aurora whilst giving birth, because the child would be born cross-eyed!

And in Greenland the lights were also linked to giving birth but rather sadly they were judged to be the souls of stillborn babies or even babies killed at birth.

And in Finland many people believed the lights were caused by the firefox who ran so quickly across the snow that his tail caused sparks to fly into the night sky creating the Aurora.

Either way, I think we can all agree there is something magical going on when these lights appear in the nights sky. Making this Ice Cream is easy too, all we are doing here is whipping some heavy cream with a hand held mixture, adding a can of condensed milk and some vanilla extract to make the coolest ice cream ever!

I have always been fascinated and memorized by the northern lights, and have sought them out on numerous occasions and have been lucky to see them a few times.

Each time being just as magical as the last however not all Canadians have seen these lights. And that’s because there hardly visible within the cities limits, and are more common in some areas than others. So you must find the right spot to view them, and the darker the better.

Have you ever seen the Northern Lights? And if so where? I would love to hear about your  experiences in the comments below.

Cherry Cheesecake

This No Bake Cherry Cheesecake is simply my favorite way to eat a Cherry cheesecake.

I have brought this cheesecake over to a few friends and family, and everyone says the same thing = YUM!

I have had people begging me for the recipe, and believe me when I say.

There is no other Cherry Cheesecake that I have tried, that even compares to this nothing.

Maybe I am bias because I do love fresh cherries so much or maybe it’s true, I’ll let you be the judge of your creation.

Because you don’t live near a bakery doesn’t mean you have to go without cheesecake. ~ Hedy Lamarr

But let me tell you, no store bought or restaurant made has ever impressed me like this recipes does.

It probably has a whole lot to do with those cherries you see on top, as they do not come from a tin can.

That would be just wrong!

WHAT IS CHERRY CHEESECAKE

  • It is a basic cheescake that is topped with fresh cooked cherries.

IS CHERRY CHEESECAKE GLUTEN FREE

No, the Graham Cracker crust has gluten.

These cherries are fresh, making every bite unbelievably decadent.

Some people like a lot of cherries on their cheesecake, while others like very little.

I am on the “like a lot side”, I mean a lot!

HOW TO MAKE CHERRY CHEESECAKE

If you are using frozen cherries, keep in mind that you will need to drain them well so you don’t get an overly watery topping.

As for the crust you can bake it or allow it to chill in the fridge prior to filling, both methods will be provided to you below in the recipe card.

  • I use 3 cups of cherries for a 8 inch cheesecake.
  • if you’re wanting less cherries, then use 2 cups or you can use a 9 inch cake pan for a larger cake.
  • First, you will start by making the crust.
  • Then the cream cheese filling
  • Lastly, you will cook the cherries on the stovetop. Then allow it to cool down before topping the cheesecake with them.

I hope you enjoy this dessert as much as we do.

Note: Place your cake back in the freezer or it will melt, this cheesecake is best chilled frozen.

Easy Key Lime Pie

This Easy Key Lime Pie contains only 4 ingredients and no eggs.

If you have never tried this delicious pie that hails from Sunny Seaside Florida, then you are in for a treat! It’s super fresh tasting, tangy and sweet.

And if you knew it was this easy to make, I’m certain you would be making it more often.

This is one of my favorite pies, next to some other berries kinds.

And with only 4 ingredients such as sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, key lime juice, and whip cream. This pie is easy to make.

And takes less than 30 minutes from start to finish!

HOW TO MAKE KEY LIME PIE

  • Some people like to add 2 cans of condensed milk, so if you prefer you can do that too.
  • Personally I prefer it made with one can because it gives more of that tangy taste that I love.
  • Plus if you add 2 cans, you will find it makes to much filling.
  • So if you decide to do so, be prepared for some extra filling on the side. Which I guess isn’t so bad right?

This is my favorite KEY LIME JUICE!

For my all time favorite pie recipe!

Key Lime Pie is always best the next day, so allow it to sit in the fridge overnight for the best flavor.

When your read to serve, add your whipped cream on-top otherwise it will melt all over the place.

LOVE KEY LIME PIE? Then you will want to try my other recipe below!

Best Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream

Do you like Pumpkin Pie? Well I do, so much so that I can eat a whole pie to myself. So I decided to recreate the same pie with this Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream.

Have you ever added vanilla ice cream to your Pumpkin Pie? It becomes even more AMAZING, don’t you agree?

That is what this ice cream becomes.

I grew up eating Pumpkin pie, it was always served as the main dessert around Thanksgiving, Christmas and sometimes on Halloween.

As a kid I never could get enough of it. And so I wanted to recreate this pie and make it into an ice-cream.

My family loves Pumpkin pie too, so I made this inspired ice-cream, and boy oh boy this stuff is delicious.

Don’t believe me?

Well then you’re just gonna have to try it yourself!

Maybe you will even skip the actually pie this year and serve this up and your next family gathering. I’m sure your guests won’t mind!
