Peanut Butter Granola Bars No Bake

These Peanut Butter Granola Bars No Bake are chewy, not hard. And are absolutely easy to make and much healthier and better than any boxed kind.

It took me a few attempts to figure out what makes them chewy vs hard, and I have come up with this recipe here.

There are plenty of pre-made granola bars on the market today and most contain a bunch of sugar and other fillers.

There are some specialty made kinds, that can cost you upwards of $3 dollars a bar.

But not these, they are healthy and are much less than a fraction of the cost than any store bought kind.

These no sugar bars can be made with just 5 ingredients and take less than 10 minutes to make. And stores well in any type of sealable container that keeps them fresh throughout the week.

With just some good old ingredients of “oatmeal, honey, cocoa powder, walnuts and your favorite peanut butter brand. You two can start making your own granola bars at home.

T trust me they tasty much better than those box kind.

I like to use organic peanut butter with chia seeds in it, but the type you use is completely up to you.

Whipping these up on a lazy Sunday is best because you can have them stored in the fridge for an easy “Quick on the Go” type of breakfast or snack throughout the week.

Notes: You can add any type of nut to these bars. Store covered in the fridge for up two a week.

So how can this shake benefit you? Well Cherries are packed with vitamin C, which is needed to build collagen your skin’s natural wrinkle prevention thus slowing down the aging process. Cherries are also loaded with Queritrin, a flavonoid believed to be one of the most potent anticancer agents. And blueberries? these guys are ranked the number 1 in antioxidants. Then be sure to add your favorite protein powder also to this drink if your wanting to use it as a meal replacement in the mornings. I use “Spirulina” which is packed full of protein. So what is Spirulina?

Spirulina is a magical plant that comes from blue -green algae, that is found in warm fresh waters. And contains significant amounts of calcium, niacin, potassium, magnesium, B vitamins and iron. Which reinforces our immune systems and helps control high blood pressure and cholesterol, thus giving us the ultimate protection from cancers. I like to buy the organic variety that is grown in Hawaii, I trust the brand and have been using if for years. I also like to add chia seeds too, because they are super rich in nutrients such as fiber, iron, and calcium and Omega-3 fatty acids. I hope you give this powerhouse of a shake a try, you won’t regret it.

Coconut Pineapple Banana Smoothie

This Coconut Pineapple Banana Smoothie is Heavenly! And sure curbs my sweet tooth in a very healthy way. So call me crazy, because even though it’s mid January here in Canada, and freezing as can be. I’m still drinking tropical smoothies, while wrapped up in a warm blanket on the couch. I practically have used up another whole bag of frozen pineapples since the New Year has rolled around, and Jason is going to kill me if I don’t replace this last bag by tomorrow “because he too uses frozen pineapple in his morning shakes”. But guess what? there is a method to my madness, I am trying to stay healthy. And so far so good, these smoothies are packed full of Vitamin C and I have yet to catch the common cold this year. Seems as though everyone is catching something nasty around this time of year and here I am sipping on Coconut Pineapple Banana Smoothies, like i’m living in the tropics . Staying well, thank you Vitamin C and daydreaming of the warm ocean breeze somewhere afar.

I have always liked smoothies, however I used to just drink them for breakfast. You know the kind where you add some “Protein Powder”  a veggie and some juice then run out the door before your late. Well I still drink those type of smoothies, however I have started to experiment with other types as well. This particular smoothie, is packed full of vitamin C since one cup of pineapples alone has 78.9 mg of Vitamin C. Pair that with 1/2 cup of Orange Juice which has around 70 mg Vitamin C and you are on your way to warding off the common cold.

In no time you will start feeling and possibly seeing the benefits from this smoothie that is packed full of vitamin c and energy from the banana and coconut milk.

To make this Coconut Pineapple Banana Smoothie:

  1. In a blender add the frozen pineapple chunks, orange juice, coconut milk, and ice cubes into the blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and enjoy!

Note: You can add 1 tbsp of unsweetened Coconut flakes if desired.
