Help Save The Canadian Horses

My friends and I need your HELP… is the slogan for the “Canadian Horse Rescue & Re- Homeing Society.

I’m speaking of the Canadian Horse. And right now they need us Canadians and everyone who cares about them to stand up for them. To tell the World that as Canadians the majority of us do not eat horse meat and do not support these BIG organization rounding them up, breeding them only to slaughter them for the meat markets overseas.

I typically stay away from Political matters but in this case I feel I have somewhat of a platform to be a VOICE for these Horses that are a Canadian Icon but are NOW in grave danger in this lifetime. Right now as I’m writing this these horses are being sought out and bought across Canada to be bred and sold for the meat markets in Japan. And they are not the only horses of course used this way, however there are allot that are. This business is growing and with a simple “Youtube” search you can find hard evidence of this. Beware it’s shocking to say the least as to the footage being captured at our airports of these horses last days on Canadian soil.

So who are the Canadian Horses?

Canadian horses where an invaluable ally to the settlers in their efforts to survive and prosper in their new home; Canadians who have known the Canadian horse have made clear their high esteem for the qualities of great strength and endurance, resilience, intelligence and good temper. The Canadian horse was at one time in danger of being lost through interbreeding or as a casualty of war, but has survived these perils, since 1885 and all during the present century, widespread and increasingly successful efforts have been made to re-establish and preserve the Canadian horse. The Government of Canada has declared these horses to be the “The National Horse” of Canada. Source: http://www.canadianhorsebreeders.com

Who are the Canadian Horse Rescue and Re-Homing Society?

The Canadian Horse Rescue and Re-Homing Society are allot like the Humane Society but not for dogs and cats for horses. And are an AMAZING rescue that puts 100% of the earnings back into horses rescued from auctions where these horses would otherwise be bought and sold to only end up on slaughterhouse floors. You can volunteer or donate if you can’t which will help them to raise awareness and allow there work to continue.

How the they began?

The Canadian Horse Rescue and Re-Homing Society was formed in 2015 after a few passionate and concerned Canadian horse owners learned that some Canadian horses had been shipped to a slaughter house in Alberta. As these horses are endangered, it was important to form a network to buy, adopt, or rescue and then rehabilitate Canadian Horses with the goal of re-homing them. Our role is to simply provide temporary shelter and care until forever homes can be found. Learn more about the Canadian Horse here.

You can help not only buy just spreading the word for theses voiceless horses, but you can DONATE to a GROUP that is standing in the FRONT LINE and needs more supporters to stand beside them.

Here are a few of the ways you can helphttp://canadianhorserescue.ca/get-involved/

How they help and where your MONEY goes!!

STEP 1. Tell them about a horse

A key component of the Society’s work is helping owners re-home their Canadian breed horses, before sending them to auction or risking a less-than-ideal sale. Contact us if you have a Canadian breed horse to re-home or know of any Canadian breed horses that might be at risk.

STEP 2. Their team takes action

As we learn about Canadian horses in need, we offer owners several options to consider. We will also do a community call-to-action for any Canadian horses that might be at-risk, including those being sent to auction or that appear at auction.

STEP 3. Horses on the move

Our network provides food, shelter, and health care. We evaluate for soundness and basic training and handling, then plan our next move. The Society’s goal is to be a place of refuge and safety until a loving, forever home can be found for these rare horses.

Step 4. How you can support their efforts

From auction-watchers and horse haulers to temporary (foster) and permanent (adoptive) homes, it takes the whole community to ensure success. Review the Get Involved page for further details.

Will you make a DONATION today that can lead to helping more horses from ending up in SLAUGHTER? I think you can 🙂 every bit helps. Thank you for reading!
