Hodad’s Restaurant Review

Hodad’s Restaurant Review ~ Ocean Beach, San Diego California

Dinner Review

Ocean Beach is a vibrant, bohemian neighborhood, with a classic SoCal beach vibe. Surfers and sunbathers fill the namesake beach, while Ocean Beach Pier is a popular local fishing spot with sweeping views. Their is also a Burger joint called “Hodad’s” that is just a 5 minute walk from this pier. They claim to have the best burgers and if the lineup out the door isn’t enough to convince you then tasting them definitely will.

If your in the San Diego area, then you should definitely check out Hodad’s because there burgers are AMAZING! They are not kidding when they say theirs is BEST IN THE WORLD. It is up there on our top 10 list!!

I have eaten many burgers in my time and so has my partner and this place is definitely one we will come back to for sure. They have a wide selection of burgers and their prices are great! We were advised to stay away from the double burgers as they are ENORMOUS! So we both ordered a side of onion rings with our single burger orders and where full with that. Of course you could just order the double burger though but I would definitely skip those rings. Ps: They also have fries, those looked good too!

I ordered the Guido Burger, which has pastrami on it among a few other things. It was made famous by Guy Fieri and it was absolutely delicious! The picture really doesn’t do this meal justice, it was way to good for words. The rings where AMAZING too, super crispy.

Rating 10/10 ~ A perfect burger with a side of onion rings.

They had my favorite Mexican beer on the menu so I had too!

Jason ordered there single Bacon Cheeseburger, he loved it as well!

Rating: 10/10 ~ A perfect Burger with onion rings on the side.

What can I say, besides this place is AMAZING! Jay and I both agree it far exceeded our expectation and will be back again.

Ravenlady in Ucluelet Restaurant Review

Ravenlady in Ucluelet Restaurant Review

If your ever in Ucluelet in BC treat yourself to this special little spot. Where they serve fresh seafood right out of there little grey food stuck.

This place is located right in the heart of the downtown near the water and offers tons of picnic type seating. We went here for a light afternoon snack and it definitely hit the spot, if we were really hungry we would have had to order two dishes each since the orders are small but well worth it.

We both ordered The Trio which let us try a few Oysters. 1 steamed, 1 fried & 1 smoked oyster. My favorite was the deep fried one and Jason’s was the smoked.

Delicious and so so fresh!

Pagliacci’s in downtown Victoria Restaurant Review

Pagliacci’s in downtown Victoria Restaurant Review

This restaurant is actually famous in Victoria. You will see many pictures of celebrities who have dined here in the past. It’s within walking distance of the downtown marina and is located right in the heart of downtown Victoria. So if your Craving good Italian food? That is well priced at that, then you may have found the perfect place.

You don’t have to make reservations here but you may want to as it’s a very busy place. Every seat is typically filled and you will have to wait at the door most likely for a seat. But once you get seated you will feel right at home and can relax with a nice cold glass of wine.

Pagliacci’s has a great selection of italian dishes and has a lot of history that you are sure to enjoy reading about. For the starter we tried some crab cakes which were very good.

I ordered a dish called “I’ll Have What She’s Having” which is served only after 5pm. It has Wild local sockeye salmon, market fish, Vancouver Island clams, mussels, Argentinian red prawns, scallops, king crab legs, cherry tomatoes, red onions, peppers, chili, light seafood marinara, focaccia. It’s was very good but was missing the king crab legs which was very disappointing!

Jay ordered some kind of pasta dish which we cannot remember at all. But he loved it and would like to try there other dishes at another time.

Such a lovely place to enjoy in the warmer months!

The staff was very friendly but the place is small and very busy so be prepared to wait for a seat. I ordered the Prawn tacos which both me and Jason agreed was the better of the two dishes. Oh and we tried there Cheesecake, it was so good!

Puerto Vallarta Amigos Restaurant Review

Puerto Vallarta Amigos on the Fisherman’s Wharf Review

This little Mexican Restaurant is as unique as they come, it’s located right on the fisherman’s wharf in downtown Victoria. Craving good Mexican food? Then you may have found the perfect place.

You can order to go and sit at one of the many outside patios or you can try to find seating inside on the floating restaurant. We got lucky and found seating right on the there outdoor patio overlooking the water.

Puerto Vallarta Amigos has a great selection of seafood inspired Mexican food and other traditional dishes.

Jay ordered there Diabla Prawns dish which was served with rice and a salad. Everything is fresh to order and you can see and taste that in this dish.

Such a lovely place to enjoy in the warmer months!

The staff was very friendly but the place is small and very busy so be prepared to wait for a seat. I ordered the Prawn tacos which both me and Jason agreed was the better of the two dishes.

There wings are so good and go even better with a pint of beer.

The staff is very friendly and the place is HUGE but always packed so be prepared to possible wait for a seat.

The beer is ice cold and the wings are flavorful, we tried 4 kinds and the “Lemon Pepper” by far was our favorite then the “Cajun”  and there bourbon BBQ, lastly the Planet bee Honey was good to if you like sweet foods!

We ordered a pint of CANADIAN beer which runs at $6.50 $18.00. Not bad he?
