What are Rice Paper Noodles
They are made from Vietnamese Rice Paper that is soaked first in warm water, before being removed to slice into thick noodles that are sautéed in a delicious sauce.
I am addicted to making noodles this way! It is super easy and versatile. You can even make other sauces for them if desired. I will be sharing more ways to prepare these type of noodles on this blog soon!
RICE PAPER NOODLES VS RICE NOODLES
Rice paper can be eaten simply just after soaking in warm water for a few minutes while rice noodles need cooking in boiling water for a longer period of time.
HOW TO MAKE RICE PAPER NOODLES OUT OF RICE PAPER
- Start by soaking the rice paper in warm water for 2 minutes.
- Then remove the noodles, gently and slice then thick to create thick noodles.

- Meanwhile, prepare the sauce and toss that into a frying pan before the noodles
- Sauté the noodles over medium heat for a few minutes and set aside
- Sauté the shrimp in some remaining sauce and add to the noodles

Ingredients
- 8 medium shrimp
- 6 rice paper noodles
- 2 green onions, diced
- SAUCE
- 2 Thai red chili, sliced
- 3 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp soya sauce
- 1 tbsp chicken stock
Instructions
- Start by soaking the rice paper in warm water for 2 minutes.
- Then remove the noodles, gently and slice then thick to create thick noodles.
