Canadian Cooking Adventures Tips

Use Real Canadian Maple Syrup

For the best flavor, always use pure Canadian maple syrup instead of pancake syrup. The rich maple flavor pairs perfectly with smoky bacon and sharp cheddar cheese.

Add Extra Crispy Bacon Before Serving

Reserve some crispy bacon to sprinkle on top right before serving for the perfect crunchy texture.

Make It Extra Smoky

Add a pinch of chipotle powder or extra smoked paprika if you love bold smoky BBQ-style flavor.

Bake It For A Crispy Cheese Top

Want restaurant-style mac and cheese? Transfer everything to a baking dish, top with extra cheese and bacon, then broil for a few minutes until golden and bubbly.

Perfect For Meal Prep

This recipe reheats beautifully the next day. Add a splash of milk while reheating to bring back the creamy cheese sauce.

Add Crunch

Top with crispy fried onions, toasted breadcrumbs, or crushed kettle chips for an irresistible crunchy finish.

What To Serve With Smoky Maple Bacon Mac & Cheese

This cozy mac and cheese pairs perfectly with:

  • Garlic bread
  • Roasted broccoli
  • Creamy coleslaw
  • Cornbread
  • BBQ chicken
  • Pickles
  • Crispy green salad

Storage Tips

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or microwave with a splash of milk to keep the sauce creamy.
