Nigerian Goat Pepper Soup

This Nigerian Goat Pepper Soup recipe is made with goat meat and is traditional west African dish that is savory yet spicy and full of flavor. As it is cooked with in-bone goat meat which creates a rich broth that is absolutely delicious.

Want to try more tasty African recipes? Try this Nigerian Red Stew or some Black Eyed Peas would work well alongside this recipe. Also, I highly recommend serving this with Pounded Yam another African staple food or some white rice.

Nigerian Goat Pepper Soup

I love Nigerian Pepper Soup and had it just a couple weeks ago from one of our local African restaurants. West African food is unique to most other cultures foods. As it really has depth of flavor and spices to most of there dishes. And you can make it as spicy as you’d like. Personally, the more spice the better.

However, for this recipe if you are not accustom to a lot of spice, you can simply omit the scotch bonnet pepper or use just a pinch of it. Be sure to wear cloves though as that is one spicy pepper.

IS NIGERIAN PEPPER SOUP GOOD FOR WEIGHT LOSS

On it’s own yes, the water contents and spices help fill you up and goat being a lean meat and high in protein will help fuel you for the day.

I will make this soup when I’m craving something warm and spicy!

Traditional pepper soups call for aka chilli or negro pepper. Which is not always easy to find, so I use “Scotch Bonnet Peppers” or sauce. See the sauce below that can be used in replace of the peppers if you so choose.
