MARRY ME SHRIMP VS TUSCAN SHRIMP

The only difference between these two popular dishes is that Marry Me Shrimp uses “Red Pepper Flakes” and some “Tomato paste” . I typically omit both as I much prefer the sun-dried tomatoes and chicken / cream / parmesan flavors to dominate the dish.

WHAT DOES MARRY ME SHRIMP TASTE LIKE

It tastes a lot like Tuscan Shrimp which is a Sicilian Italian dish. Which has seasoned shrimp cooked in a creamy broth along with spinach or basil and sun dried tomatoes or fresh baby tomatoes and of course parmesan cheese and lemons.

How to Make Merry Me Shrimp

  • Step 1: Cook the Pasta
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Step 2: Season the Chicken
  • Season the chicken strips with paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Step 3: Cook the Chicken
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Step 4: Make the Cream Sauce
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring well. Let simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  • Add the parmesan cheese slowly while stirring until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  • Step 5: Add the Vegetables
  • Stir in the sun-dried tomatoes and spinach. Cook until the spinach wilts.
  • Step 6: Combine Everything
  • Add the cooked pasta and chicken back into the skillet. Toss everything together until evenly coated in the creamy sauce.
  • Step 7: Garnish & Serve
  • Top with fresh parsley and extra parmesan cheese before serving.
  • Enjoy warm!
