Imitation Crab Meat Salad

You may also like this recipe for my Imitation Crab Rolls or Crab Sliders

Years ago, I was addicted to Safeway’s crab meat salads! The ones you could get fresh in the deli. I have then learned to make the best crab meat salad at home and tend to have this in my fridge available all summer long.

This Imitation Crab Salad is also a lower fat option to the typical Mayonnaise filled crab salads. As it uses a creamy ranch dressing / yogurt dressing instead and is seasoned to perfection. seasonings.

WHAT IS IMITAION CRAB MEAT SALAD

Generally the crab meat is made from other white fish such as pollock fish which is flavored. The salad itself is a popular cold salad often served with crackers or on crusty bread. It is creamy, savory and either can be sweet or more savory depending on how it is made.

This recipe is a bit sweet and savory! Just how I like it.

HOW LONG WILL IMITATION CRAB SALAD LAST IN THE FRIDGE

In a sealable container it will last up to 3 days!

CRAB SALAD DRESSING

I make this with Ranch Dressing and Plain Yogurt along with Old Bay seasoning, extra pepper and lemon juice.

Another dressing you can use is Mayonnaise and the same seasonings or Miracle Whip for a more sweeter Crab Meat Salad

Best Dressing for Imitation Crab Meat Salad

THE BEST RANCH DRESSING IS A FRESH DRESSING SUCH AS LIGHTHOUSE HOMESYLE RANCH and then mix that with a plain yogurt, seasonings and lemon juices for the perfect dressing.

CAN IMITATION CRAB SALAD BE FROZEN

It is best not to as it changes the texture, also imitation crab meat is generally not the best tasting from frozen.

You can serve with your favorite crackers or enjoy as is or even in a crusty roll to make an crab roll sandwich.
