It is a Filipino flavored type of Spam meat that is flavored similar to many Filipino pork dishes.

SPAM MUSUBI RICE RECIPE

Is made identical to any other sushi rice. see below.

  • Start by rinsing the sushi rice a few times then bring a pot of water to a boil and cook on medium heat till the rice is cooked
  • Remove the rice and rinse in cold water and drain completely, add in the rice vinegar and stir wellPlace in the fridge to chill for at least 30 mintues Prepare the Spam
  • Slice however thick you prefer, I like to make 5 thick slicesAdd 3 tbsp of cooking oil to a pan and sear the span on both sides till golden brown
  • Remove and set asideNow make the Musubi
  • Place saran wrap over the canned spam and add in about 2 inches of rice and pack it down with a spoon or ladle
  • Add in the cooked spam and pack down some too
  • Carefully remove the saran wrap with the rice and spam and then carefully remove the saran wrap into your hand
  • Have some pre cut seaweed ready to wrap the out layer with
  • Be sure to wet the seaweed on either side to stick
  • Serve on a plate and top with Japanese Mayo

Ingredients

  • 1 can of Spam Tocino flavor
  • 2 cups of sushi rice
  • 2 tbsp sushi rice vinegar
  • 2 sheets of Nori seaweed
  • 5 tbsp Japanese Mayo

Instructions
