Also, you can use fresh of frozen fish for this dish. Just be sure it is defrosted prior as you do not want a watery soup.

WHAT IS THAI COCONUT LIME SOUP

It is a traditional soup that is made originates from Thailand and sometimes is made with the addition of red Thai curry paste. However, that version is more spicy than this one. Both soups are good it just depends on your personal preference

What you need for this recipe

  • Cod fish
  • Coconut Milk
  • Spinach or Kale
  • Tomato
  • Green Pepper
  • Fish stock
  • Cilantro
  • lime

How to Make Easy Thai Coconut Fish Soup

  • In a medium pot add 1 tbsp cooking oil and sauté the ginger, onion and garlic till translucent
  • Then add in the chicken stock and diced cod
  • Pour in the coconut milk
  • Then add in the diced green pepper, spinach along with fish sauce
  • Simmer covered for 5 minutes before adding in the fresh cilantro
  • Remove from the heat
  • Squeeze a whole lime into the soup and stir to combine
  • Serve hot, enjoy

Easy Thai Coconut Fish Soup

Ingredients

  • 4 Cod fish fillets
  • 2 cans of Coconut Milk
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 2 cups of Spinach or Kale
  • 1 large Tomato, diced
  • 1 large Green Pepper, diced
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp fish sauce
  • 1 cup Cilantro
  • 1 juice of a lime

Instructions

  3. Pour in the coconut milk
  4. Then add in the diced green pepper, spinach along with fish sauce
