Not only that, it is inexpensive as it uses a pre-made dollar tree pizza crust that is super delicious and a few ingredients make this pizza recipes a cost efficient meal that all the kids will enjoy!
With the cost of takeout these days, it is no wonder people are looking to make more meals at home. In our family we used to order takeout every weekend and pizza was one of those foods. Simply because, we have kids and well most kids love pizza.
As my son get’s older, i like to incorporate him in some of my cooking and now we have replaced ordering our weekend pizzas to making them together at home.
It has become our new tradition. I have tried many pre-made and home made pizza dough recipes. Some are better than others, but I like thin crust and so does my kid. And I have found no real trick to making a good one in under 1 hour.
So, I have literally found my weekend life saver when it come to a pizza crust. And it can be found right in your local dollar-tree store. They have this very thin crust pizza dough ready to make pizzas with and that is exactly what we use.
We like to make a few different pizza’s at home but our favorite is a CHEESEBURGER PIZZA and then a Leftover Rotisserie Chicken Pizza. For today’s recipe we are doing the Cheeseburger one. Half is his and have is mine.
How to make pizza at home with kids
In our home we make pizza every weekend, either Friday or Saturday depending! And I’m no fan of making a dough from scratch. Since having a kid that is. I’m always looking for simpler ways to make my kids favorite foods while incorporating him into making his meals together.
Also, be sure to do all the pre work prior to making it with your littles, saves time and is much safer of course. Once everything is prepared you can guide them on how to make a pizza.
HOW TO MAKE A EASY HOMEMADE PIZZA
- Pre-make the tomato sauce (olive oil, tomato paste and seasonings)
- Sauté the hamburger with seasonings till browned and set aside
- Slice the onions, pickles and tomatoes
- Grate the cheese
- You will want to start by pre-cooking the hamburger in a skillet till lightly browned and seasoned well with your seasonings.
- Then once that is done, shred the cheese, pickles, onions and tomatoes.
- Once that is done, spread your “tomato sauce” mixture onto the top of your pizza dough crust
- Top with cheese, then all the remaining ingredients. In our case my son just likes, cheese, hamburger and pickles. I like all the ingredients and so half has the onions and tomatoes.
So proud of my little one 🙂 and he actually eats 2 whole slices when he participates in the process vs takeout! WIN WIN!
