Canadian Cooking Adventures Tips

Use Frozen Seafood to Save Money

Frozen shrimp and seafood blends work beautifully in chowder and help keep the recipe affordable while still tasting delicious.

Don’t Boil the Chowder

Once the cream is added, keep the chowder at a gentle simmer to avoid overcooking the seafood or curdling the broth.

Make it Even More East Coast Inspired

Add lobster, scallops, or smoked salmon for a richer seafood chowder with true maritime flavor.

Let the Chowder Rest

Seafood chowder tastes even better after sitting for 10–15 minutes before serving because the flavors have time to blend together.

Serve with Crusty Bread

A warm loaf of bread or buttery biscuits makes this chowder even more comforting and filling.
