HOW TO MAKE LOBSTER THERMIDOR

Creamy Lobster Thermidor Recipe
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Remove lobster meat from shells and chop into chunks. Set shells aside.
  3. In a pan, melt butter over medium heat.
  4. Add shallots and cook until soft (2–3 minutes).
  5. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
  6. Pour in white wine and reduce by half.
  7. Add cream and Dijon mustard, simmer until slightly thickened.
  8. Stir in half of the cheese, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  9. Fold in lobster meat and mix gently.
  10. Spoon mixture back into lobster shells.

Creamy Lobster Thermidor Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 whole cooked lobsters (halved, meat removed & shells reserved)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 shallots (finely diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ¼ cup dry white wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Salt + black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

    1. Prep the lobster

    Remove the lobster meat from the shells and chop into bite-sized pieces. Set shells aside for filling.

    2. Start the sauce

    In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
    Add diced shallots and cook for 2–3 minutes until soft.

    3. Add garlic

    Stir in garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

    4. Deglaze

    Pour in the white wine and let it simmer until reduced by about half.

    5. Make it creamy

    Add heavy cream and Dijon mustard.
    Simmer gently until the sauce slightly thickens.

    6. Add cheese + flavor

    Stir in half of the Gruyère and parmesan cheese.
    Add lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

    7. Add lobster

    Fold in the chopped lobster meat and gently mix until coated.

    8. Fill the shells

    Spoon the creamy lobster mixture back into the reserved lobster shells.

    9. Top with cheese

    Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.

    10. Bake

    Place on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes.

    11. Broil for finish

    Broil for 2–3 minutes until golden, bubbly, and slightly crispy on top.

    12. Garnish & serve

    Finish with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon if desired.
