You can always add spinach to this Creamy Sardine Pasta if desired, I choose a pre-made spinach cheese ravioli and was satisfied with it having spinach and cheese inside the pasta itself.

WHAT IS SARDINE PASTA

It is an Italian dish that has sardines cooked in a rich creamy lemon sauce that is served with pasta.

HOW TO MAKE SARDINE PASTA SAUCE

  • Start by adding butter and olive oil to a pan and once melted sautĂ© the shallots and garlic together till fragrant
  • Add in the vegetable or chicken stock and empty the whole can of sardines into the pan thereafter.
  • With a cooking spoon break up the sardines and simmer over low heat
  • Add in the red pepper chili flakes, Italian seasonings and simmer over medium heat for a few minutes
  • Squeeze the juice from 1 lemon into the sauce and remove from the heat and set aside
  • Toss with in your cooked ravioli pasta and serve with fresh parmesan cheese

  • Canned Lemon Pepper Sardines
  • Vegetable stock
  • Shallots
  • Garlic
  • Lemon
  • Butter
  • Olive Oil

  • 225 grams Spinach Cheese Ravioli
  • 1 canned Lemon Pepper Sardines
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable stock
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Pinch of lemon pepper seasoning
  • Pinch red chili flakes
  • 1 shallots
  • 1 head garlic
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • 4 tbsp Parmesan Cheese
