Creamy Italian Sausage Tomato Pasta

My family loves rainbow tortellini pasta, which is the same as white tortellini with the addition of spinach or tomato mixed in the colorful ones. Most people are familiar with the white version, but I encourage you to try the rainbow it is so good! This particular tortellini also has 3 cheeses in it. As seen below!

When the weather is colder which tends to be often here in Canada. This is one of our favorite weekly rotation meals.

I also like to use the EXTRA CREAMY ALFRADO as seen below! Defiantly worth checking out if you ask me 🙂

Creamy Italian Sausage Tomato Tortellini Pasta

With the pre made Alfredo sauce you can have this dinner ready in no time. But if you want to make an Alfredo sauce from scratch you can find many of those recipes online. I personally have a brand I like and stick with it.

HOW TO MAKE A TORTELLNI SAUSAGE WITH A TOMATO CREAM SAUCE

  • Start by sautĂ©ing butter in a frying pan and minced garlic, sautĂ© till fragrant and transparent then remove and set aside
  • In the same pan, add the sausage and cook till well done, remove and set aside
  • In the same pan add in the Alfredo sauce, milk and parmesan cheese. Along with Italian seasonings and pepper.
  • Toss in the frozen or fresh tortellini and allow to simmer on low heat
  • Meanwhile, dice the sausages and toss into the pan and stir everything to combine
  • Heat throughout and serve!

Ingredients

  • 250 grams frozen rainbow tortellini
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 5 small Italian sausages
  • 1 bottle of Alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup of 2% or whole milk
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasonings
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • pepper to taste

Instructions
