What is a White Sauce

White sauce is just that a white sauce which is made with thickening cream with flour.

Ingredients Butter, Flour, Cream or Milk, and Salt and pepper

Creamy Chicken with White Sauce

A classic French recipe that is so versatile and easy to make you will want to make it time and time again!

Ingredients

  • CHICKEN
  • 2 Chicken breast, cut in halves to make four
  • ½ cup All-purpose flour
  • ÂĽ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • SAUCE
  • ½ cup (120 ml) Chicken broth or white wine
  • 1 cup (120 ml) Cream
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2 tbsp Butter unsalted
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • ½ tbsp All-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp Parmesan
  • Parsley to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet add oil and butter and sauté the chicken on all sides till browned, remove then set aside
  2. Meanwhile, make the sauce.
  3. Add more oil and butter to a pan and stir in the flour and fry for a few seconds to blend be sure not to burn the flour rather you want to simply thicken it up.
  4. Stir in the chicken stock to combine along with cream and parmesan cheese.
  5. Taste and season with salt and pepper according to your taste
  6. Add back in the cooked chicken breasts and simmer on a low heat on both sides of the chicken till hot and coated with the white sauce
  7. Serve with a sprinkle of parsley, enjoy!
