WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT BOURSIN CHEESE PASTA

It makes for a creamy base to any dish and takes little to no effort at all to prepare as it is an already softened cheese that can be mixed with heavy cream or even stock to create a rich sauce or even dip.

WHAT IS BOURSIN CHEESE

Boursin cheese is a brand of soft spreadable French cheeses. They come in 3 popular varieties and are all flavored with different ingredients. They are expanding their flavors by the day.

It is the perfect ingredient to flavor pasta and other dishes and it melts well and is similar to cream cheese. There most popular flavor is Fine Herbs as seen below.

WHAT IS BOURSIN CHEESE

Boursin Cheese Types

There are currently 8 flavors, Shallot & Chive, Black Pepper, Rosemary & Black Garlic, Basil and Chive, Garlic and fine herb, Fig & Balsamic.

HOW TO MAKE BOURSIN TOMATO PASTA

  • Bring 1 large pot of water to a rapid boil, then turn the heat down to medium and add in some salt and the uncooked pasta. Cooking it al dente.
  • Immediately remove, strain under cold water to stop the cooking process and set aside.
  • Meanwhile, add half butter and olive oil to a skillet over medium-high heat. Add in the onion and sauté till translucent, add in the minced garlic and sauté one more minute till fragrant.
  • Set aside the onion and garlic and then add the remaining butter and olive oil to the pan along with sliced cherry tomatoes
  • Sauté till soft and tender, pour in the heavy cream / vegetable stock turning the heat down to low- medium then adding in the Boursin cheese
  • Simmer till the cheese melts fully, add in the pepper and cooked pasta
  • Enjoy with parmesan cheese if desired!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of uncooked pasta

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup vegetable stock
  • 1 package Boursin cheese
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • pepper to taste
