Creamed Frozen Spinach recipe
Let’s start off the New Year right with a new spinach recipe. This Creamed Frozen Spinach recipe is a simple dip that can be served in less than 15 minutes as it has just 4 ingredients and is on the healthy side as it has no mayo! PLUS it is packed with spinach which makes for the best spinach dip ever!
Be sure to prepare this prior to eating as you want it chilled in the fridge at least 30 minutes to serving. The colder this dip the better! Most creamed spinach dips have very little spinach and so much heavy cream, mayo and parmesan cheese in it. And tends to be served hot, but not this recipe.
Rather this recipe uses more sour cream to make it creamy, cream cheese and old cheddar cheese and is served cold. If you want it more creamy than what I have made above, simply add more sour cream. The sour cream and creamed cream cheese and old white cheddar cheese really works wonders for this dip!
WHAT IS IN THIS FROZEN CREAMED SPINACH DIP
It is made with frozen spinach that has been defrosted on the counter and strained of all liquid. I recommend doing the straining with your hands so that you do not loose any spinach.
Then it is mixed with room temperature cream cheese, sour cream and old white cheddar cheese. You can serve this to a large crowd in no time or store it in the fridge covered for up to 3 days! You can serve it with fresh veggies to make it even more healthy!
