You can serve this also with Homemade Guacamole & some Cabbage Pico Gallo or even just salsa and sour cream.

This  Cheesy Ground Beef (In-N-Out) Quesadilla is ready in about 30 minutes. And is a bit different than the average beef quesadilla in that it tastes more American than Mexican. If you love quesadillas this recipe will blow your mind. And if you love In-N-Out Burgers than you are sure to love this recipe.

You will want to pre-grilled / sauté the onions in olive oil and sugar to caramelize them along with the ground beef in order to pull off these Cheesy Burger Quesadilla (In-N-Out) recipe. And add just a bit of beef stock to make it extra juicy too!

WHAT IS A QUESADILLA BURGER

It is made the same as any other burger with the addition of a grilled Tortilla shell vs a Burger Bun. And is often served with salsa or some dipping sauce!

  • Caramelized Onions
  • Monterey Jack Cheese and Mozzarella

WHAT IS A FLYING DUTCHMAN BURGER

It is a burger that has been made famous from a popular takeout fast food restaurant in the USA called In-N-Out burger. 

WHAT IS A CHEESY BURGER QUESADILLA

It is made up of all the same elements of a Flying Dutchman burger with the addition of a grilled tortilla that holds the burger ingredients all together.

WHAT TYPE OF TORTIALLAS FOR QUESEDELLAS

You can use a common and easy to find Flour Tortilla wrap from your local grocery store or find one with extra ingredients and even protein in it if desired.

HOW TO MAKE A CHEESY GROUND BEEF (In-N-Out) QUESADILLA

  • In a large frying pan add 1 tbsp of olive oil and chopped onions, sauté till partially browned then toss in 1/2 tsp of sugar and allow the onions to fully caramelize.
  • Remove the onions and set aside, meanwhile fry the ground beef till browned also, toss in all the seasonings to coat Stir in the beef stock and set aside
  • Next, grease another clean frying pan (large enough) to hold a tortilla and bring to a high heat before turning down to low-medium heat
  • Add in the tortilla and allow it to cook for a few seconds, once it bubbles some. Flip over and grease the other side too
  • Place the cheese on one half of the tortilla, and top with the ground beef and onion mixture, top with more cheese Then fold in half and press down with a spatula against the pan to allow it to cook more and the cheese to melt
  • Once you see the cheese has near fully melted
  • Turn over the half tortilla and fry on the other side for a few minutes till lightly browned
  • Place on a cutting board to cool down before slicing into 3 or 4 slices
  • Lastly, make the “Homemade In-N-Out Sauce and some fresh lime slices. Enjoy!

Cheesy Burger Quesadilla (In-N-Out) recipe

Ingredients

  • 5 large flour tortillas
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup monterey jack shredded cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella shredded cheese
  • 2 tbsp Beef stock
  • 2 large onions
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • SEASONINGS
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • in-N-Out Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayo or you can use sour cream instead
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 1/2 cup relish
  • 1/4 cup siracha sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large frying pan add 1 tbsp of olive oil and chopped onions, sauté till partially browned then toss in 1/2 tsp of sugar and allow the onions to fully caramelize.
  2. Remove the onions and set aside, meanwhile fry the ground beef till browned also, toss in all the seasonings to coat Stir in the beef stock and set aside
  3. Next, grease another clean frying pan (large enough) to hold a tortilla and bring to a high heat before turning down to low-medium heat Add in the tortilla and allow it to cook for a few seconds, once it bubbles some.
  4. Flip over and grease the other side too
  5. Place the cheese on one half of the tortilla, and top with the ground beef and onion mixture, top with more cheese
