This Best Steak Udon (Yakisoba) recipe is made with sliced beef, enoki mushrooms. and spinach! And is a quick weeknight dinner option that can be served in 15 minutes time. Also, everything you see here is simmered / fried in only 5 ingredients, which make a delicious Yakisoba sauce which is traditional to Japanese Yaki dishes.

This is a recipe even your picky toddler will eat! – the mushrooms lol. My toddler loves noodles anything and the yakioba sauce has sweet elements that make him craving more.

Now you are probably familiar with chinese chow mein noodles which come from China. But have you tried Yakisoba? they are the Japanese version of chow mein and are so tasty.

So much so Yakisoba is one a very popular Japanese dish. That is typically made with yakisoba noodles or in this case udon noodles which work well too.

The flavors are l traditional as the sauce it always made with oyster sauce, soya sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and brown sugar.

YAKISOBA SAUCE

  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Ketchup
  • Soya sauce
  • Oyster sauce
  • Brown sugar

How To Make Yakisoba Udon Sauce

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl
  2. Whisk it all together.
  3. Adjust to your taste preference.

You can store this also in the fridge in a sealable container up to 3 weeks.

How To Make Yakisoba Udon Noodles

  • Start by frying the enoki mushrooms in sesame oil till soft, remove and set aside
  • Then in a pot of boiling water add the either frozen or packaged udon noodles and cook till separated and hot.
  • Strain and set aside. In the same pot add all your YAKISOBA SAUCE and heat up over low heat. Toss in the spinach and udon noodles and stir fry for a few mins.
  • Remove to serve. In the same pot, add some more sesame oil and fry the beef.
  • Once browned, toss in some water to create a little broth and serve the beef and broth over the noodles. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 package of udon noodles
  • 1/2 package of enoki mushrooms
  • 1 oz steak sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup spinach, chopped
  • Yakisoba sauce
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Ketchup
  • Soya sauce
  • Oyster sauce
  • Brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Start by frying the enoki mushrooms in sesame oil till soft, remove and set aside
