It has become a famous TikTok recipe for a reason. It is a take on the more complicated to make Seafood boil but instead of boiling it with many other ingredients. You are simply baking it! My recipe makes 2 onion boils, you can make less or more if required.

BE SURE TO WRAP it fully in tin foil and tight to prevent the onion from falling apart during the cooking process.

What makes this the Best Onion Boil Seasoning is the ratio to butter/oil

You can scoop as much or little out of the middle as desired. I used a knife then spoon to scoop out the middle you can also use a ice-cream scoop to do the job.

FOR EACH LARGE ONION you will want

  • 1/4 cup of butter per onion
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Seasonings.
  • 1/2 tsp lemon pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp old Bay seasoning

Then serve with seasoned with dried parsley and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice

HOW TO MAKE THE BEST ONION BOIL

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Then in small boil add melted butter and olive oil and stir to combine
  • Toss in all the seasonings and combine
  • Take 1 tbsp of seasonings and coat the shrimp
  • Then peel and onion and ‘slice off the top and bottom to have a flat ledge
  • With a spoon out the middle of the onion but do not remove the bottom
  • Take some tin foil out and place the onion in the middle
  • Coat the onion entirely with the remaining butter/oil mixture
  • Add in the shrimp to the center of the onion
  • Seal the onion with tin foil tight all around (very important) step
  • Bake for 1 hour
  • Remove the tin foil and enjoy!
