It taste like creamy curried chickpeas and if you have the patience to wait to eat your recipe to the next day it tastes even better. As the chickpeas really marinate!
WHAT IS CHANA MASALA POWDER
It contains a few key spices such as Cumin, Black Pepper, Red Chili, Clove, Brown Cardamom, Cinnamon, Green Cardamom, Garlic, Ginger and Salt.

Authentic Chana Masala recipe
Ingredients
- 1 large can of chickpeas
- 1/2 cup of ghee/butter/oil
- 1/2 cup vegetable stock
- 1 tbsp chana masala powder
- 1 small onion
- 1 tsp tomato paste
Instructions
- Place the ghee/butter/oil either or of the frying ingredients will work in a pot
- Fry the diced onion till golden brown then add in the tomato paste and fry for a couple mins before adding in the spice mix
- Fry the spice mix till fragrant then add in a can of strained chickpeas
- Add in the veggie stock
- Cover and simmer on low-medium heat for 25 mins to serve.
