CAN YOU PUT FOIL IN THE AIR FRYER
Iv’e been asked this question many times and the answer is yes.
I use it often when cooking sticky foods as the clean up after is that much easier.
WHAT IS AIR FRYING
Air frying is a healthy alternative to deep frying food. And most air fryers have been marketed in a way to make you think that this cooking technique is best for those who make a lot of those at home.
Well I am here to tell you that you do not need to just be a deep fried food lover to want to use this cooking method. RATHER if you love to bake food, then this is also a great alternative. And in most cases is much healthier than traditional baking methods.
Once you this recipe, you will honestly wonder how you ever lived with an air fryer.
The first air fryer originated from the Netherlands in 2010.
If you have never used an air fryer, now is the time. Because they are more affordable now than ever.
Plus they are also a much healthier way to cook food, since the fat drains away and it is never deep fried.
You can use side ribs, baby back or spare ribs for this recipe too. So whatever you have here on hand will work for this recipe.
HOW LONG TO AIR FRY PORK RIBS
I use the T-Fal air fryer and put them on for 40 minutes, please check with your air fryers cooking instructions.
However, to convert an oven-cooked recipe to an air-fryer one, the general rule of thumb is to reduce the suggested temperature by 25°F or 3.889 C and then cut the cook time by about 20%
Of course you can actually heat up the grill outside and bbq some RIBS or bake them in the oven. But why would you now that you have an air fryer. It replaces all those gadgets and the clean up is easy.
CAN I USE ANY KIND OF AIR FRYER?
YES!
I currently have and use the T-fal ActiFry Fryer
Also on occasion I will use my Gotham Steel Fryer as well. *Goes direct in the oven.
Both tools work well for this recipe! Links to purchase in the recipe card.
HOW TO AIR FRY PORK RIBS
Honestly, it is super easy.
And having tried numerous ways to air fry ribs myself. I found the best option to be the one that I’m about to share with you today.
I’m telling you, it is simple and saves a lot of time and hassle that some other recipes may call for.
“Such as cooking them first in tinfoil, I find that this method really is not necessary”.
- The method that I prefer, is to remove the skin from the ribs as much as possible with a knife.
- This is done by sliding a knife under the membrane and over the bone enough to loosen the skin so you then can pull it away. It is not the easiest thing to do, so do your best.
- Then you will simply cut the ribs into two piece sections and coat with all your seasonings. Before placing in the air fryer, to cook for 40 minutes till golden brown.
It is really that simple guys.
WHAT TEMP TO AIR FRY PORK RIBS
If your doing this in the oven on the Gotham Steel Crisper? 400f will do the trick!
If your doing this in most of those tabletop air fryers than follow the instruction on your fryer as some are smaller than others.
My fryer goes by minutes and so I can cook these ribs for 40 minutes and they will be done.
