AIR FRYER GREEK LAMB CHOPS

Once you this recipe, you will honestly wonder how you ever lived with an air fryer. 

Since you will see they taste just the same, with less cooking time and not having to heat the whole house up.

If you have never used an air fryer, now is the time. Because they are more affordable now than ever. There are so many on the market as well. I have listed my favorites in the links below in the recipe card!

WHAT TO SERVE WITH LAMB SHANKS

I love to serve a Lamb Shanks with vegetables and mashed potatoes. These Vegetarian side dishes go so well, Air Fryer Beets, or Sauteed Asparagus and Honey Mustard Brussel Sprouts

WHAT IS AIR FRYING?

Air frying is a healthy alternative to deep frying food. And most air fryers have been marketed in a way to make you think that this cooking technique is best for those who make a lot of those at home.  

Well I am here to tell you that you do not need to just be a deep fried food lover to want to use this cooking method. RATHER if you love to bake food, then this is also a great alternative. And in most cases is much healthier than traditional baking methods. 

Because air frying mimics deep fried foods but uses little to no oil. So you can enjoy all the same deep – fried or baked foods that we have all come to know and love again but in a healthy way.

HOW LONG TO AIR FRY LAMB SHANKS

Lamb Chops

I use the T-Fal air fryer and put them on for 8 minutes, please check with your air fryers cooking instructions. 

However, to convert an oven-cooked recipe to an air-fryer one, the general rule of thumb is to reduce the suggested temperature by 25°F or 3.889 C and then cut the cook time by about 20%

CAN YOU AIR FRY LAMB SHANKS

Yes, and they will turn out just as good as they would as if you were to fry or bake them. 

CAN I USE ANY KIND OF AIR FRYER?

YES! 

I currently have and use the T-fal ActiFry Fryer.

And cook them in batches of four.air fryer lamb chops

Also on occasion I will use my Gotham Steel Fryer as well AND most recently use the CHEFMAN fryer. 

All these tools work well for this recipe!

HOW TO AIR FRY LAMB SHANKS

  • You will want to start by marinading the lamb in a bowl for up to one hour in the fridge.
  • The marinade consists of chopped garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, rosemary and thyme.

It is really that simple!

AIR FRYER GREEK LAMB CHOPS

Yield: 2

Ingredients

  • 8 lamb chops
  • 1/4 of a cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried greek oregano
  • 1 tbsp fresh chopped rosemary (optional)
  • zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Place the olive oil, lemon juice, zest and spices into a large bowl.
  2. Then place the chops, toss, cover and marinade in the fridge for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  3. Once marinade, place the chops in your air fryer. If you are grilling them. Make sure to place tinfoil on the bottom so that you can cover the chops with some marinade to keep them most.
  4. Cook according to your air fryers instructions, every air fryer has different cooking temperatures so be sure to check with yours.
  5. Once cooked, serve alongside your favorite side dish.
