HOW TO MAKE WINTER SENSORY BIN FOR TODDLERS
You will need the follow – and the help of your toddler too 🙂
- Sensory Plastic Bin
- Arctic Stickers (we choose polar bears)
- Water
- Blue Food Coloring
- Arctic Animal Play set (I found mine on Amazon)
- Ice Cube Tray
- Snow

DIY SENSORY BIN
I use an Ikea trofast bin for our sensory however there are plenty of tables you can buy online as well if you choose. Such as this awesome little one > such as here!
WHAT IS A SENSORY BIN?
It is basically a plastic bin that is filled with textures and toys for littles ones to play
SENSORY PLAY
These days, you can buy sensory play tables online practically everywhere > such as here!
Or you can simply use any old plastic bin and place it on a sturdy table and that will suit you just fine. In our household, we simply use a IKEA TROFAST storage unit that we have and flip it on it’s side like so for our SENSORY BIN PLAY!
Winter Arctic Animals Sensory Bin
Ingredients
- 5 cups of cold water
- 4 squeezes of blue food coloring
- Arctic animals play set
- Ice Cubes with animals frozen inside
- 2 cup snow
Instructions
- In a large plastic bin add in some arctic animal stickers
- Then pour in the water but be sure to not cover the stickers
- Add in some blue food coloring and mix
- Next, fill up some ice cube trays with water and place a few arctic animals inside
- Allow your sensory bin of blue water and ice cubes to freeze, be sure to leave some water under the ice in the main bin so that your child can break the ice and play with the ice water and animals too.
- Add the ice cubes/animals to the frozen water and remaining animals
- Toss in some snow and enjoy!
